Bryan Allen....will play the Left D with Myers. He is an excellent shut down defenseman with lots left in the tank.....he is one of hit leaders every year, skates very well, shoots decently, and blocks a lot of shots.
He is an upgrade on a number of fronts on Buffalo D and lets Buffalo deal out Leopold or Sekera.

I totally agree. The Connolly thing was the right thing to do, but because we arent making the ECF or higher we think that arbitrarily blaming guys like Vanek, Roy, Leo or Sekera is going to suddenly make this thing work is wrong. The "as soon as we are rid of this guy, it will all work out" culture is pointless.

Everyone hates Roy for example, but dude has tons of game winning and shootout winning game goals, and I gaurentee, no one hates Derek on Chippewa, or Elmwood or Hertel the many nights he has scored those goals.

Awesome that everyone is still on at this hour.

You can never have enough defensemen in hockey; just like you can never have eneough pitchers in baseball, ask the Blue Jays about that....they lost four starters and a closer this year for most of the year.

when you look at adding someone you look at how they improve your team.
Allan working with Myers improves Myers and frees him up to rush more;
It will help keep him fresh too, since he will not have to log as many minutes on the PK.

moves Reigher down to work with weber/sekera
puts Ehrhoff in place to work with Leopold/Salzer

More importantly, it makes Leopold or Sekera assets that can be traded to make room for McNabb when he is ready half way through the season.

In all honesty, I felt so bad for that old man, and I don't really know why. He just had this really lonely look to him, almost a sad one. Like he came to the bar to make a friend, or just to feel like he had some company. I honestly didn't see him talk to anyone, so I made some quick small talk before I took off.
