Does anyone else get the feeling that Parise will be the main target of the Flyers tomorrow? He may go to another place because of location, but I think the Flyers will pretty much match or out spend anyone.
Of course, if the Flyers land Parise, Carle is a goner. - ravishingone
I really, really hope so.
I would do just about anything possible to woo him here. I'd gladly sacrifice Carle's signing for him. Without a moments hesitation. |

top fas always wanted to come to philly, not no more....since we traded richie and carter and signed bryz, it seems top fas stay away or is it my parnoia?
i hope having bryz does not hurt our chance to sign doan if we have one, or if homer wants him, not sure if he was one of the coyotes talking $hit on him last year. |

Doan never said anything one way or the other (although who knows how he personally felt?). It was Aucoin and Morris who spoke out.

it seems to me that after they spoke out bryz's play took a bad turn, Bill if we ever did get doan..what would his contract be like to lure him here? |

There haven't exactly been many chances for FA to sign here since those trades, what with this being the second offseason since. It didn't seem to bother Jagr last year, anyways. |

What's the better value:
-Doan @ 3 yrs for $15 million at an over 35 contract
-Carle @ 6 years for $36 million
-Parise @ 8 years for $60 million
Each deal has value and equal risk. |

Sounds about right. I figure his cap hit will be $4.5M to $5M but perhaps he'd take a steep drop (can't be too much, though) in exchange for the fourth year he wants. |

tough question
Carle... no
Doan... hmm maybe
Parise I guess is the best one
hard to look at in isolation, with G's deal up in 2 years, locking in Parise for 8 years, then you have to pay G... still I'd take Parise, then Doan, then Carle if those were the options |

but its likely to be
Dubi + Stepan+ Del Zotto
they get 2 very good young players and Dubi could bounce back, even though his contract is dog so is Nash's deal |

Its a win for the rangers if they hang onto McDonough and Kreider in the deal. That deal you mentioned is a win for the rangers. |

It is a very tough question. I think with the G contract, I think it is safe to assume he will approach a little below Crosby and Malkin at an average per year salary - somewhere around $8 million.
Also, the great unknown is the CBA. Will there be any provisions in the cap for "homegrown players"? Certainly nothing is set in stone, but I would assume Mr. Snyder has a pretty good idea what the league is looking for in negotiations. |

I thinkif the Rags get Schultz that will make Del Zotto expendable and I think you'll see the Rags acquire Nash very quickly. |

I knew I read it from somewhere, there are other articles out there on the subject. Of course, this is just speculation at this point nothing more.

Classy move by Homer... give the kid a chance to start fresh somewhere else. - Tomahawk
More then likely that Holmgren tried to give him away, and found no takers. 100K for the next two years for Bartulis on the Cap.
