I guess he didn't handle the trade well & with the depth at defense they have they didn't want to waste time, money, or a roster spot on him. But it would be nice to know what really was behind him not getting a qualifying offer.

Also I'd check in on Scott Clemmensen, Alex Auld, Chris Mason, & maybe even Dan Ellis

losing jagr and carle (most likely) opens up 2 holes on the pp. moving voracek to a fwd on the pp makes both of those needs for d-men. (of course this is pure speculation) i guess meszaros is a candidate to take over for carle, but mag could take the role voracek filled..... but nothing says the flyers are even interested in him to begin with. i would be though

if the pens are truly goung after parise with some crazy long deal, one would have to think they will trade malkin

Parise and Nash are the same age and Parise is a more complete player.

I'd rather them make the investment in Parise (overpay) during free agency than give up what they need to to get Nash.

I'd actually rather them trade for Bobby Ryan if they decide they wanna make a trade for a winger. Younger, just as productive.
