Believe Bill mentioned he's probably a 3rd pair D nothing much more. If they want that they have MAB and Gus already.
I'd like to give Marc-Andre Gragnani a run if they struggle landing somebody else they are trying to land. - ob18
What happened with him last year? Thought he looked real good 2 years ago in our playoff series. I agree I'd give him a shot as a puck moving 3rd pairing guy. Cheap alternative if we lose Carle. Maybe the Flyers would have money for

another bonus for taking a run at mag is he can be a pp qb - flyerscup2011
Not sure he'd get that roll here but it would give them another option for it if they wanted to us him in it.
And he'll likely be much much cheaper if it comes down to price. |

I guess he didn't handle the trade well & with the depth at defense they have they didn't want to waste time, money, or a roster spot on him. But it would be nice to know what really was behind him not getting a qualifying offer.
Also I'd check in on Scott Clemmensen, Alex Auld, Chris Mason, & maybe even Dan Ellis |

losing jagr and carle (most likely) opens up 2 holes on the pp. moving voracek to a fwd on the pp makes both of those needs for d-men. (of course this is pure speculation) i guess meszaros is a candidate to take over for carle, but mag could take the role voracek filled..... but nothing says the flyers are even interested in him to begin with. i would be though |

Mezzy would get the first crack if they wanted a D-man to run the PP point. |

Maybe a bunch of us get together and do a sit in at the Wells Fargo Center? "Hockeybuzzers Against Nash" |

I wouldn't let them over pay, let them hurt their roster with him at whatever high salary he gets with Crosby's & the one they give Malkin.
No thanks. |

I like Nash but not his cap hit and the cost of not keeping this young core together for a long period of time. |

If Pitt signs Parise for like $8 mill they have...
Crosby $8.7 mill
Malkin $8.7 mill
Parise $8 mill
Neal $5 mill
And absolutely no defense at all. Flyers fans want the Flyers to improve their defense, our defense is all-star calibre compared to the slop Pitt has on the blue line... |

if the pens are truly goung after parise with some crazy long deal, one would have to think they will trade malkin |

Parise and Nash are the same age and Parise is a more complete player.
I'd rather them make the investment in Parise (overpay) during free agency than give up what they need to to get Nash.
I'd actually rather them trade for Bobby Ryan if they decide they wanna make a trade for a winger. Younger, just as productive. |

They'll have so much money tied into the forwards with no defense to bail out the goalie it will be painful for their fans to watch on some nights. |
