if the pens are truly goung after parise with some crazy long deal, one would have to think they will trade malkin - mydoglicks
If that were the case, I'd be all for them signing Parise. They are not trading Malkin. |

Parise and Nash are the same age and Parise is a more complete player.
I'd rather them make the investment in Parise (overpay) during free agency than give up what they need to to get Nash.
I'd actually rather them trade for Bobby Ryan if they decide they wanna make a trade for a winger. Younger, just as productive. - Flyers2821
Well you can say that sure, but keep in mind Nash has really never been on a good team or surrounded by much to help, he's had to basically carry that team so it's easy to say that. |

To them he was, if he was around 6 I'd personally feel okay with it.
Again though I prefer to keep this young core together. |

I just can't believe they would trade the Schenn brothers and Coots in a trade for Nash. I'm at a loss on what this trade could possibly look like to acquire Nash. |

With JvR gone, (in a deal I'm not really happy with) Jagr testing the waters of free agency, and Voracek still in limbo as an unsigned RFA I'm starting to get concerned.
Especially considering how Carle will now either:
A) cost the Flyers more money than they really can afford to spend on re-signing him or B) losing that player altogether.
Also using Voracek as a trading piece for a finisher like Bobby Ryan is a huge mistake IMO. Voracek to me grew tremendously as a player - especially during the playoffs and I view him as a player who could eventually develop into a top 10 - top 5 forward in the league. He's a player that can hold on to the puck, set up players with fantastic vision and play-making abilities. His size and speed are undeniable. The Flyers are making a huge mistake in letting that player go in a trade when he's still a young player with a great career ahead of him. |

There is no reason to be concerned. Flyers are seeing what they can do with UFA/Trade and if they can't get something done they will re-sign Voracek... Voracek is in their back pocket, there is nothing to be concerned about. |

No. Nash to Philly worries the hell out of me. One can only hope the organization is smarter than that. |

I guess he didn't handle the trade well & with the depth at defense they have they didn't want to waste time, money, or a roster spot on him. But it would be nice to know what really was behind him not getting a qualifying offer.
Also I'd check in on Scott Clemmensen, Alex Auld, Chris Mason, & maybe even Dan Ellis - ob18
I'd prefer Clemmensen or Mason. |

Cosign. The Flyers need to hold on to both Meszaros and Coburn moving forward. Those 2 defenseman should be untouchable IMO. |

It's going to be down to salary demands, under a million is ideal for them. |

Agreed, I'm kind of shocked this has even come up again after the draft. Unless Howson finally realizes he just isn't going to get the offer he covets especially with Nash's NMC. |

I don't want Voracek in their back pocket. I want Voracek signed to a multi-year deal and absolutely a key cog in the wheel that is the Flyers core. |

of nash, parise, and ryan, nash is the best talent, he is a true superstar..he was never surrounded with the proper pieces to make his career soar...hes fast, hes finese, he can shoot, and play make...parise will make over 8 mil a year, the only reason i would want ryan over nash is because of a lessor cap hit and shorter term.
g and nash would be the sickest duo ever |

So, if they are able to sign Parise or Suter tomorrow and as a result have to trade Voracek's rights, you would not be okay with that? |

Guess we'll see what happens. Maybe a ploy to drop the price on ryan? Dunno but the flyers are gonna make a splash |

i agree, we will trade for ryan or nash by tommorow, seems surreal...for either player i dont care if we lose jv, mezzy, cob, read, or even simmonds, these guys are just role players compared to nash or ryan, wonder if we have to eat steve mason to get nash. |

Who knows, maybe Howsen finally lowered his Nash demands. I think for what Nash is, the rumored assets Columbus wants is probably fair. But that cap hit has to lower his value to most teams that want him. Maybe something finally gave on Columbus' end. I trust Holmgren won't do something totally stupid. Getting Nash in and of itself could be ok, even with the cap hit, depending on what is given up. |
