I love Burke's trading ability. But trading alone is not going to make us a contender. If we're not going to tank, we need to land elite players somehow. One is available today.

Those were good trades, I'll give him that, they just haven't amounted to anything as far as results go and, really, unless he pulls some more big trades it'll be more of the same this year too.

More negatives than positives in his term as Leafs GM as far as I can see. The best result so far is a second place AHL team and finishing out of the bottom 5 in the league. Hardly a strong resume.

Ok so I guess you're fine without having a 1st line center. We don't need Kulemin if we sign Parise, we don't need Grabovski if we acquire Stastny as Bozak is capable of playing 2nd line center. Whatever floats your boat.

Stastny is a better player than Grabo, there's no real debate about that....when you consider the money though, it gets a bit even. Leafs need a pass first centre pretty badly, and while Grabo can shoot and skate his passing skilled are lacking. Grabo is a nice #2/#3 Centre on a GOOD team, but lets not over-hype him.

Stastny is a much better overall Centre. He can pass way better than Grabobovski, and his overall game is just a bit better imo. That being said, i'm not too sure I want Stastny for 6.6mil a year, even though he would be a good fit in Toronto imo.

Grabovski was the benefactor of the upcoming free agency today. Could you imagine what he would have got today? North of 6? Please.

Grabovski is defensively responsible, he'll put up 60-70 points playing with top end talent and he is definitely the hardest working Leaf. He makes mediocre players like Kuli and Mac look much better than they really are.

Just so we're clear, Kuli is NOT a 30 Goal Scorer. He and Mac are around twenty goal scorers annually. And if you want to GET Stastny, you give up one or both an d cap space.

Mac and/or Kuli, Franson and a 2nd. Maybe throw in some Cap space if the avalanche are interested. Remember, they want Duchene to be their guy, and they could easily take a guy like Jokinen to fill line 2 and try to land the Parise sweepstakes after freeing up cap space and bringing in some Wingers to help out Duchene amp up production.
