Ribeiro has/had baggage though, along with a rumoured coke habit - Nastradamus
I bet that coke would make him skate faster though. |

Guess our only options now are Parros or Tootoo...or just continue to get slapped around by Boston and now Montreal. |

today is one of the most active days of the year, so it is an excellent day to inquire about trades, and Burke tends to conveniently (frank) off on important days like this, but if your okay with that, then it's just fine... fans like you is the reason accountability means very little in this city - Nastradamus

Suter with Phaneuf would have a similar dynamic to the Suter-Weber pairing.
and Parise is just a (frank)ing amazing player.
We have the space to get both. - twiztedmike
And you need top end talent to contend... we don't have any in the pipeline and Kessel is our only guy. Those two would go along way. |

Montreal will try to slap us around, but Armstrong will break his hand while trying to do so. |

for the love of piss and (frank) please let the Leafs get Suter or Parise - twiztedmike
I would love the Devils trifecta. Langenbrunner, Parise, Brodeur.
Parenteau would be nice, but I have a feeling he'll be overpaid by too much. Doan would probably come at a better price relative to what you're getting (especially since he's a consistently good player), but I don't know what his motivations are this late in his career.
With as many d-men as we have, I'd take a look at adding another. Suter would be excellent, of course, but Garrison looks interesting.
And Jagr is still out there... He's a bit of a wild card. |

man Parise would be a wicked pick up, I don't know why they (apparently) aren't more aggressive - Nastradamus
Probably because either player can find currently better teams with better players to play with and will receive more money from those teams... We won't be gettine either.. so don't get your hopes up. |

Then Connolly will tackle him and break his neck. And by 'his' neck I meant Connolly's. |

Yeah it's true
As long as places like TO are crap at attracting UFAs then it won't matter how much talking BB does.
Let's just face it, it's drafting, and trading that are gonna make or break this team.
I'm still hoping we can get Morrow and Ott from DAL. Considering how little it cost to acquire Ribeiro, you'd have to think the cost for both wouldn't be terrible:
Mac
Lombardi
2nd
The cap is close, and we clear a couple roster spaces so we don't deprive a youngster of a spot in the fall - AngryWhiteMale
Please stop it thats like me saying we can get those guys for Leino Tropp and a 6th |

You are right, this is not a bad idea!
Sign Brodeur as a 1 year stop gap and a mentor for Reimer.
Then get Langenbrunner for leadership on the top 9 forwards. He's a character guy
Parise, with 2 buds here with some familiarity, may choose to join as well. It increases the Leafs odds.

Sadly Doan's not an option
Would love to have him.
Like I said up there, if we can get Morrow and Ott for Mac, Lombo and a 2nd I'd be thrilled.
Parros would also be a possibility.
Any news on Semin? |

Rielly, by all accounts, could be a top offensive d-man. He seems like a "swing for the fences" type of draft pick.
Incredible upside, but some risk. His stock fell due to injury, if I'm not mistaken. |
