What offers do you think would work? I think that for Parise you have to get to about $70m/10yrs... reports are that he wants huge signing bonuses of $12 this year and next, so give those and then approx $5m per season salary.

For Langenbrunner, I'd say 2yrs but don't know where to put the salary... especially given that he'd be on the third line.

Brodeur would be interesting, but I'd prefer to use our money to boost our forwards and see whether or not we can protect Reimer/Scrivens better under Carlyle.

What do you propose for Statsny?

Why did you waste all this time typing that?

Prust is important, but Konopka wouldn't be bad. Prust will go in the 2-2.5 range. Konopka would be relatively cheap.

Jokinen wouldn't be bad to grab too for our Center issues...

I think Jokinen would be our best center if we grab him. That's just me.

I wouldn't object to a year or two for Jokinen to allow Colbourne to stay in the Marlies.

I'd like prust. I've been saying Konopka would be a nice add since this time last year. IMO>> Steckel.

Hell no to Jokenin.

What that is is proof that we have neglected the centre position since Sundin left...

Wouldn't that be nice .... But no once again Lord Burke will sit on his fuking thumb and do nothing but maybe add a 3rd or 4th liner

Buffalo fans! Talking like they realistically have a shot at Parise!! Their owner has lots of money, just take the Copter north and be there in 30 mins to make their pitch.

Basically, what I want is a top tier player for each role on the team. Jokinen does not fit that description. Despite Jokinen obviously being a better player than Konopka, Konopka is a top tier fourth line center while Jokinen is a second tier second liner.

Canes are fine.. they are looking to spend now, they are expected to make a big push for Suter also.

Three years ago, we fell on our faces right off the bat.

Two years ago, we fell on our faces after 6 games.

This year, we fell on our faces after 50 games.

Is a full season with no catastrophic meltdown within reach now finally?

Another lost season (or a good chunk of one) should take care of about 4-5 southern franchises.

You're spot on with Parise, and Toronto could surely afford it. Tired of Burke signing plugs, the Leafs have to get serious about winning the Cup sometime. Not everyday that you get to acquire a ppg player with leadership qualities giving up no assets.

Langenbrunner at 2 million tops.

Not quite sure what the salary would be for Brodeur, but would certainly be worth it.

Grabovski and Kulemin for Stastny. Bozak can takeover the second line center position, as well as Lupul getting dropped down a line.

Why aren't we serious players for Parise? Its time Burke gets over getting his panties in a bunch for long contracts. A player like Parise rarely makes it to the UFA market. Imagine the assets we would have to trade in order land Parise in a trade. Why not pay that extra 2m over those 5 extra years? He is an awesome player. Although I get that we're probably not his top choice destination, we have the financial muscle to offer him more upfront bonuses than most other teams. 10 year 90m contract. Make it happen Burkie. The cap just went up 6m as well. Better than wasting 4.5m on another Connolly or Komi.
