Toronto should be all in after Parise, but like most here know...doubt that's happening, not with Burke's self implimented rule of no long-term deals, which doesn't make any (frank)in' sense these days. Another boring FA period for the Leafs, but i'm sure we'll see some mediocre 3rd and 4th line signings over the next few days, lets just hope Burke isn't dumb enough to give 3 year deals out to those bottom line players again. A. You don't think that Burke was connected? It's the 21st century, you don't have to be sitting next to each other to talk.

B. Burke has full confidence in his group (Nonis and Loiselle handle the contract).

Make plans then not follow up on them (i.e. having a tough team, not doing a 5 year rebuild, trade talk, etc.)

Again, my issue is just what he's doing compared to his colleagues. If 29/30 people do a job one way that should say something about the one guy doing it differently. For example if 29 workers in an office fill out their reports on a computer and one guy does it on a typewriter it's pretty obvious that he's out of the loop and not doing things the right way.

Grow up? Atleast try to make sense. I'm only saying that even if we're not Parise's top destination, Burke should be busting his balls trying to convince him and his agent. We have the financial resources to do so. At the end of the day he might not sign, and there's nothing that can be done about that. But stop marching at a damn parade and do your job.

Grabovski is overpaid at 5 million dollars because he is not capable of being a 1st line center, Statsny is, that's the difference. Stastny is capable of putting up 80+ pts, Grabovski isn't. Imagine Stastny slotted in between Parise and Kessel, holy crap, you can't say the same about Grabovski. Bozak would fill the same role at under half the price as well.
