why wouldn't they, unless they are strapped for cash? - Powerslave
Vanek is 2m more of a cap hit and is 3 years older....dont think he is any better than Ryan, so that's why I wouldnt do it if I were the Ducks |

Interesting...speaking of cash how just a short time ago Pittsburgh was in same boat as Sabres and on verge of moving (owned by NFL) they must have more knowledgeable hocky people that we do (and cups)....they made great moves in the draft and signed "the kid" forever and may just get Zack |

My only conceran about Hodson is its real easy to play 3rd fiddle behind Sedin and Kessler. Here he has no protection. He will have to really show me a bunch more at both ends of ice. No clue about Ennis he had areal nice 25 games. Early in the season he was a no factor Maybe it was the move to center mayb e just a nice little run - hafgod
Im really hoping the Sabres give this kid a full season before investing in him long term.Too many unknowns yet to be seen with him as a top 2 centerman |

why would Anaheim do that? - Homer
Why would they just trade a 30 goal scorer for nothing that will replace him? Entering a rebuild?
They have plenty of cap space to take on 2 extra million, and over Vanek first five years compared to Ryan, he has more goals |

the only thing i'm saying is, they don't lose much getting Vanek back, production wise, and Ryan has stated that he wants out. Anaheim pretty much HAS to deal him, at this point |

Vanek, Ryan, Stafford and Pominville doesn't look to bad for wingers. |

Ryan has averaged almost 5 more goals a year than Van in the last 3 years, is cheaper, younger and more physical. |

I wouldnt trade all that away anyways.
Bobby Ryan is worth:
A) An equivalent roster player IE: Vanek
B) A roster player plus pick IE: Stafford/Ennis + 1st
C) A roster player plus prospect IE: Stafford/Ennis + Pysyk/McNabb
This Top 6 player + 3-4 Dman + prospect + pick bullpoop is ridiculous - theblueandgold
I choose A |

I think Grigorenko and Hodgson both have more upside than Ennis. Ennis had an amazing hot streak. No way he keeps that up. I would like to actually trade somebody when their value is high - RayHatesDomi
maybe grigorenko but cetainly not hodgson. when has hodgson had a hot streak? |

that's true but their cupboard is prety bare prospect wise I understnd but I bet they'd want picks/prospect and maybe a lesser roster player than Van |

I just think Hodgson will be a better all around player. I also think he will be the future captain of the Sabres.
It's no knock on Ennis. If we can keep him, great. But, you have to give to get. |

The only advantage Ive seen over Kassian is he seems slightly more motivated. |
