the Heat had 300,000 at the parade...I didnt think Miami had that many fans for any team - vejim
I was going to say "that's it?" until I looked up the population of Miami Dade County. It's less than 3 million so I guess 10% turnout is pretty good.

The problem is Parise and Suter are currently too busy counting the cash as we speak. The announcement will come as soon as their done. |

Sure, because Nashville won't just do the same to us when we have a young guy hitting RFA status. BTW, isn't Giroux hitting that point soon? Couturier, Read, Schenn - steelydan
I have a feeling theyll lock G up before it comes to that.
And do you really fear Nashville going after our young prospect Dmen coming up the pipeline? |

If Weber accepts an offer sheet it costs them 4 first round picks, and you only guarantee to have him for 1 year. umm no |

G will be up in two years, you really think if the Flyer are putting out over $200 million for two guys not currently in the organization, they would somehow not overpay to keep their own already here?
Anyway as I stated in the earlier post, it is highly unlikely it will happen. However, the team has tried the tactic twice before. |

Been on a big Storage Wars kick lately. Hopefully Flyers are giving other teams the Dave Hester treatment by jumping the bid early on two good lockers (Parise/Suter) so that they're outta pocket money when the sweet locker (Weber) comes us for bid.
I'm really hoping the team that signs Parise / Suter will make the announcement by just tweeting YYYUUUPPP! |

Actually you can offer a player multi-years in an offer sheet for a RFA. I'm pretty sure at least.

if that's the case, it might come back to kick them in the ass because free agents are signing while they wait... |

I'm not so sure that G will agree to a contract until he's played out his current contract. Why sell yourself short, it's clear that he can get top 5 money, if not top 3.
And no, I don't fear them coming after our young prospect Dmen at all. Hence, I named Couturier, Read, and Schenn. Not sure where you pulled that comment out from..... |

Oh I was only thinking theyd be looking at D to replace Weber, wasn't insinuating thats what you meant, sorry if thats how it read.
The Flyers have a knack for signing guys they like, like JVR, before it goes to RFA. Atleast I think thats what happened with JVR..... |

GMs can offer them all they want, players still need to sign them. |
