That is not really relevant as far as cap hit goes. They know they will get that much, and so will not sign for much less earlier.
Crosby is an exceptional situation, with his relationship with Lemieux and the way the team has been so patient with him, and with his concussions. - PT21
Flyers will just sign Giroux to a similar deal as Crosby got around this time next year. This time next year, Giroux will be a Flyer for life. |

Flyers need to follow Tocchet's advice. The money passed around is just too insane asylum. - Pixote Andolini
JUST TRADE FOR BOBBY RYAN AND BAIL ON THIS CIRCUS!!!
1. Trade for Bobby Ryan
2. Bail on Parise
3. Stay in on Suter and hope for the best
4. Negotiate to re-sign Carle while you wait

What would you guys think if we sign Colaiacovo and Moore for a dman and 4th line center. Colaiacovo as the a replacement for Carle, his game is similar to Carle though Carle is way more durable and a better player, he could be had on the cheap. I like Moore because he would be the idea 4th line centerman and because I like Talbot on the wing with Couts as our shutdown line. Also Moore won FO at 55% clip last year which is higher than any current Flyers. Plus he could also help on the PK. Again this is assuming the Flyers don't resign Carle and don't make a major move in FA or the trade route.

Just chatted with Nieuwendyk. He was looking at his board in his office and had Benn centering Jagr and Ericksson... Pretty good! |

Clearly the Suter situation is holding up any other possible d-men signing or being traded... is the Parise deal the same? Could the Flyers pull out of the running for Parise and trade for Bobby Ryan or is Aneheim sitting and waiting until after Parise gets traded? - Flyers2821
If I'm Anaheim, I'm waiting to trade until everyone is in a position to make their best offer. And that won't happen until the teams in the Parise race know for sure they don't have him. |

jagr said it's not about the $. best time ever in philly. loved the team, the city, blah, blah, blah. then he leaves. for a pay raise.
he had a nice season. especially for someone his age, and having been absent from the league for 3 years, but what did he do here that warrants over a 1 million dollar raise? i don't get it.
it's probably bryz's fault. jagr tried not to sit with him for lunch during the 24/7 episode. what more proof do we need?

Did you really want him to sign back here anyways? His play clearly dropped off down the stretch and in the playoffs he vanished. |

I think part of his pay raise is the effect the cap floor creates though. Jagr is a pretty easy guy to overpay for 1 year to help get to the floor. |

not for that money, of course not. i liked jagr here and feel he could have continued to contribute for another year. he definitely trailed off at the end, and obviously had some groin issues. i'm fine with him moving on. |

Thought he had some nice games against Pitt, and afterwards was pretty obvious he was injured. That's the risk of having a 40 year old in your top 6 though. |
