It's funny because Dreger and Mckenzie haven't mentioned once the Flyers being in or out or even having the highest offer in days? I just scrolled back through their twitters. In fact last time Dreger spoke about Flyers and the FA's was on Monday night when he said, "Flyers submitted big bids on both Parise and Suter. For the moment Philly appears to be out on Nash. Things can change quickly." - Flyers1218
Do you watch NHL network at all? Every single time they talk about it they talk about the Flyers leading the way with the $$ value offer. Every single time.
Even if Suter doesn't want to play here. He still wants that offer to come from Philly. So I don't see Suter telling a Flyers player that. - MJL
Did he expect that player to go tell Miller? Did Miller get told it was off the record? It could have been an off the cuff comment. It was during the season.

Do you have a video clip of that because not one time have I seen that. Not one time.

Why would I have a video clip of such a thing? I watch NHL network and they say it. It goes into my head and I continue watching. What reason would I have to produce a video clip of it?
I don't know if it was or wasn't? But he did report that a Flyers player told him during the season that he didn't want to play in Philadelphia. Whether or not that makes Suter an idiot is a different story, but it doesn't negate the fact that it was said. Who knows if that has changed.
MJL, trust your gut. You are good at that. What does it tell you? No one and I mean no one out there seems to think either of these guys are coming here.
I didn't say it was off the record. I said maybe he was asked to keep it off the record and he didn't (which I doubt).. who knows. Doesn't change the fact that Suter said it. Why would the Flyers player lie?

SO I got my internet back. read through a gazillion pages of Ryan/Suter/Parise. Dear Lord.....
I really do hope Rick Tocchet has gotten through to Holmgren because Shane Doan and some low key signings would be huge for this team. Gives you the gritty but gifted top six forward the Flyers need and room to boot. I see a lot of people married to the idea that the cup is won by signing and trading in July Voracek is gonna be a gem in this league. Guys, he put up 47 points being shuffled around the lineup and was widely considered one of, if not the best defensive forwards on the Flyers this past playoffs. So many of you are ready to deal him away like a worn out spare tire I can't believe it Oh well carry on with the insanity, just thought I'd lend some sanity to the board....

If a reporter is told something off the record, that usually means that it's not meant for the public. My gut has nothing to do with it. It's understanding how the NHL works. And when your a Organization like the Flyers, and you have a monster offer in to a player, you have a shot at it.
My gut told me last year that there was no way the Flyers were going to trade Richards and Carter.

Parise and Suter are just chillin. No need to rush. - stveshdy
Neither one of those guys is worth more than 7 mill a year and (good Lord) 10+ years.... good go to the penguins and frag their cap.... plz by all means.

Hold on here! Just because a reporter said it, doesn't make it a fact that Suter said it. It's hearsay. When you hear Suter say it, or it's reported in quotes, then it's a fact. That's part of the problem with today's media and social media.

They do have a shot. About less than 10% on each of them.

yes even Miller didn't quote Suter just that he heard from another player. That is hearsay and actually such statements are not admissible in court.

I rather have voracek. Withdrawal all offers. Not worth it at this point

That is true. I have never heard it. But where there is smoke, there is usually fire and it's pretty obvious that Suter wants to get paid in a city where he can stay relatively anonomous..

ExZackery!
Edit: if overpaying is the must do thing this year, then let's minimize the destruction and put it towards a player already here who's up and coming.
