Agreed on Journeyman. Excellent album. Listened to it just last week.
Disagree on Cream. - Scoob

Collins is an underrated drummer, I saw him playing drums with Clapton and Friends at a concert in I want to say 87, I was young I don't remember the exact year. But Collins was on drums, also had bassist Nathan East, as well as Mark Knopfler. Spectacular show. - PLindbergh31
Genesis was my first favorite band. That led me getting into his solo stuff as well as Brand X. He *is* underrated. The Live Aid concert with Led Zeppelin? Magnifique! |

I actually do much better online in FIFA than I do in NHL.
The reason?
Bigger nets. |

ABWH
Phil Collins: But Seriously
Eric Clapton: Journeyman
Rush: Presto
That's just off the top of my (tired) head.
EDIT: I saw Collins, Clapton, and Robert Plant that year (actually 1990 by the time they came to Philly). Plant's album had come out in 1988 (Now and Zen). Manic Nirvana was 1990. |

If you want to hear great PC drumming get Brand X Unorthodox Behaviour and Moroccan Roll. Great stuff. |

Yes I'm serious and stop calling me Shirley.
Never got into them and can't stand Sunshine of Your Love.

Unreal album. I own just about everything Clapton has ever done. The only thing I don't love is the Blind Faith stuff (I'm not a Steve Winwood fan).
To me, nothing beats his days with Cream. I saw them play at MSG in 2005, when they were all 60+ and they hadn't lost a thing. Just an amazing concert. - PLindbergh31
i love the blind faith stuff and .john mayall.

I agree that Cream is his pinnacle, but there's a lot of good stuff before and after. I do like the Clapton/Winwood concert they did a few years back. Haven't given that as many spins as I should, but I did like it.
I'm stuck on a Rush thing right now what with their recent release, "Clockwork Angels."
I basically like any group that ever played on 93.3 WMMR from 1980 - 2005, especially the 80's and 90's. - Flyskippy
No question about it. His Derek and the Dominoes days, and his time with the Yardbirds, and John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers is all stellar.
When Hendrix calls you the best guitarist ever, it says a lot.
Mr. James Douglas Morrison, The Lizard King, has been dead 41 years today. Unreal. |

if you like collins on drums, you should check his 70's fusion work with Brand X. that poop rules. |

Yes. Also listen to him on The Lamb.... Unreal. Most folks know him as that Sussudio guy.

It's not bad, but I'm not a Winwood fan, but Blind Faith did have Ginger on the skins. |

It did - and Phil also sang backup on the track. Phil's song "I Wish It Would Rain Down" on his "...But Seriously" album (also 1989) had Clapton doing the guitar.
Daryl Hall (of Hall & Oates) sang the harmony vocal on Clapton's song, "No Alibis."
- Flyskippy
One of my fav phil songs.
No surprise Clapton was part of it.
No Alibis was a good listen as well.
Just an all around quality piece of work |

Now, for me, the Doors are a band I never got into, but never turned off when their songs came on, either. I realize that my taste is just different.
Heck, I didn't like Pink Floyd at all until about 10 years ago or so when they all of a sudden clicked. Must've been the air from the Eagle Point Plant that Coastal Fuel used to operate near my last house. |

Zeppelin best band of all time imo.. Cream was only together two years they dont have the longevity, some will argue Stones, Beatles, nothing is as good as Zep.
The Principle of Moments very underrated solo album from Plant. Great stuff. |

My best friend in high school was a drummer. Neil Peart (Rush for those here that don't know) and Phil Collins were his favorites, with Chester Thompson (Genesis' live drummer and Weather Report's drummer) as a close third. He got me into Rush and Brand X. |
