You should watch Zeppelin from Live Aid in 1985. Greatness took the whole afternoon off...Page was out of tune, Plant couldn't hear himself and they both blamed Collins afterward....and he was the only one who sounded like he'd been in the original band - Jsaquella
in all fairness.... |

yeah, I read they even considered replacing plant after the 1st album. I'm not sure if rod Stewart was considered cause I think he was working with beck by then - isaiah520
There's another fairly well known guy I can't recall....more along the lines of Rodgers and Cocker, not a guy who could wail like Plant. |

I did not know that. Cool. Page rules!
I saw a Live Aid show in 99 and he was playing with P Diddy of all people and it was awesome. - PLindbergh31
he even played he solo on heaven knows by plant in what ? 87-8? it's amazing he's still alive after all the smack, but he turned his life around. |

Oh absolutely. It was thrown together at the last minute. Page played with Plant's band at Knebworth in the early 1990's, and they sounded great. It led to the Page and Plant "reunion" that lasted a couple tours in the '90's. |

it was terrible, but nobody cared. just the fact they were on stage together was all that mattered. the knebworth stuff was good - and then the unplugged effort when that was all the rage.
i saw plant on his last tour with the band of joy. he can still bring it. |

Well, Sid wouldn't have stood for that.
He would have kicked the mike stand out o Page's grasp right as he reached for it. |

what he could do with a single bass drum still amazes me. that record is incredibly powerful. |

The Honeydrippers had Beck and Page playing guitar, with Plant singing old 1950's tunes |

yeah, great version of sea of love. beck's the better player, but page was more shrewd about the music biz. those 2 along w/ Clapton accounted for so much in rock and they all were yardbirds, who most people never heard of. |

That's right. Reid had just been hired, and he said he knew a guy who'd be perfect.
I still try to imagine Cocker in Zep |

Well if you believe him it took him 3 days to talk things over with his soon to be wife about the offers, I have to think he knows but is torn to leave because it's not NJ he is going to choose. |

What I don;t get is why both players are dragging it out. Seems orchestrated and not genuine. |

If it took him 3 days to talk things over with his wife, then he is a slow talker and I don't want him on my team.
poop or get off the pot man.
I find it really hard to believe he still hasn't made a decision yet. |

Via Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago, Parise said: "I would love to play on a team with a defenseman like Ryan Suter."
• Also on Ryan Suter, Parise said he and the Nashville Predators free agent have talked throughout the process, as the two are friends off the ice.
