Hockey scouts seem to dsiagree with you considering he was selected 6th overall in 2000. - LordStanley88
So scouts in 2000 disagreed with me 2 years ago.
I'm not even sure that makes sense. |

My overarching point is that he has signficant talent, and scouts labeled him as such when he was coming up as a prospect. |

4 yrs/$18 million does seem like a good starting offer though. |

I said it yesterday and Ill say it again. The Flyers need to get out of the expensive jewelry section of the store and head on over to home improvements.
These offers they apparently have out to both Parise and Suter are wrong on so many levels.
Please Homer, rescind the offers, and move on. Fill the holes with role players and character guys, save your cap flexibility, and let these kids grow as a team.

Here we don't go again. You're making crap up. The player himself said he is looking at things from all different angles.
I didn't say he wouldn't come here because it is a horrible place to live.
I think you are arguing a point that I didn't make, or you're just making crap up.
I'm sure when Parise doesn't sign here you will state that I was right. - Daman
I highly doubt that he will sign here. But not because it isn't a nice place to live.

Jimmy Grazz (or Grass?) - I never said it isn't a nice place to live. I dedicated an entire post as to why it is a nice play to live. WTF |

I'm not sure talent and athletic ability are always 100% correlated.

Bobby Ryan and Weber next year.
Hartnell and Timonen come off the books next year and you make a monster push for Weber. - Flyers2821
Ok...under the Boardering on Crazy category...
Can we send Timmo and Hartsy back to the Preds
for Weber? I know they have NMC / NTCs, but they
Came from there and they are best buds. Would that
be a deal that either side would do...so long as
we could get Weber extended? |

Just want to say I do not want to trade Jake V in a deal for Bob Ryan.
Replacing Jagr, Jvr, and Jake V with Bobby Ryan is a mistake.
Rather get a free agent winger, Doan sounds about the best right now.
3 years, fine, whatever. Guy has character, size, leadership and would be a great fit.
Type of player that helps a team win a Cup (well not so much in the desert but maybe here, you know what I mean).
Oh and Carle. Nothing over 5.25M. Otherwise thanks Matt and good luck in St Louis or where ever you end up.
That's it for me today, hope everyone has a great day here. |

Nashville would be getting robbed in that deal. I don't see why Timonen would waive a NTC to go there, when it is his last contract year and he wants his best shot at a cup. Not sure about Hartnell, but he seems to like it here. Simply put, we'd still have to attach a few prospects on that deal in order to get Nashville's attention, and when all is said and done, our team will look worse than it does right now.
Sorry, but the trade makes little hockey sense. |

I think it's clear that even if they traded Jake+ for Ryan, the Flyers would still look to pick up another forward or 2.
And goodbye Carle. No chance he signs anywhere for under 6M. It's depressing, but it's true. |
