yeah, untradeable, he's marlie bound...... - Barx
I might be the only one that thinks he could have a decent year. A full summer of rehab and training, coupled with a contract year. He'll be playing his a$$ off I think. |

I can see us keeping MacArthur around cause he's still a useful top 9 player that can play with some grit. He's pretty fast and can contribute. Play him and move him at the deadline, cash in on a player we signed as a UFA - t_leafs21
not like they are going to cut him - trade him in the summer for something that actually helps. We know he's not part of the long term solution, so why take time away from Fratting/Kadri by keeping him.
MAc's time was up the minute they traded for JVR - massive upgrade (potentially) |

Considering how few UFA centers are available, I wouldn't be shocked if a team took a flyer on him considering he only has one more year left on his deal. |

he's too small to play in the bottom 6 and not good enough for the top 6.
who's spot do you want to give him? |

honestly it isn't unreasonable. Connolly has only 1 yr on his deal, so not a huge risk for a team, and Leafs will GIVE him away, or even take a Marlie-able contract back in order to move him I would think. |

I'm with you on that. We have a pile of defenders already (and more before Burke moved Schenn and Aulie for "meh" returns) but keep drafting more with our high picks. I get that our first two picks this year were pretty good picks at where we got them but sometimes going for the best player available isn't the best way to go, sometimes you need to draft for need and the Leafs need a first line centre. Badly. - deerow84

He's a winger ;-)
Good skater, decent pair of hands, big shot, hits everything that moves, good fighter. Lacks ability to create his own offense, so will need to be paired with a good center at NHL Level to get the best out of him.
2nd Line Power Forward in all likelihood. - Brian Huddle
Toronto Star says he's a centre:
That knowledge is not lost on centre Tyler Biggs, the team’s first-round pick in 2011 who has grown to a massive 218 pounds.
Biggs left Miami of Ohio after one year to turn pro. While his most likely 2012-13 destination is the Oshawa Generals, the Leafs have the option of placing him with the Marlies. Of course, Biggs has something bigger in mind.
“Right now, my focus is just to make the Toronto Maple Leafs,” said Biggs. “I’ve got to go (to training camp) with confidence. In my mind, I’ve got to go in thinking I have a chance to do it. If not, there’s no sense in going.”

I literally told Kevin McGran (the writer) that he's wrong. Biggs has never played center. He's a winger.

So you're in favor of stacking one position and leaving other key positions lacking? I mean, sure I guess that's worked for...well, no team...ever. But I guess that's one way to go. |

I have no idea how they are gonna part ways with connolly or komisarek, but macarthur should garner some interest. - Barx
Komi is paid $1M less than his cap hit for the next two years. that has some value to those teams looking to get up to a now higher cap floor, and actually save $1M in cash.

I've gone through line-up combos and I just don't see a spot for MacArthur, Lombardi or Connolly. They are all far too soft.
