He's tough, yes, and can be a pain to play against, but I never really got the impression that he scared his opponents to the point they don't want to face him. I'd like Nash. In a league where scoring is at a premium, I think a guy like Nash scores goals regardless of who he plays with. I wouldn't mind losing Vanek or Pominville to get Rick Nash.

I think Carl Gunnarsson will tell you otherwise. He plays a tough game, but he can also contribute offensively. It also works that he's out there with Ennis because it keeps people from trying to take liberties with Ennis. They know Foligno will get involved.

Vanek gets zero respect here. 40 goal season twice. I think top ten in goals scored since the lockout. Double Digit PP goals every year. Yet lindy tells him to park his body in front of the net instead of using his skill.

I'm OK with it on the PP. But at even strength he should be able to use his skill and shot.

Thats why I am all for trading for a guy like Thorton or Stastny. A bigger playmaking center that would allow Vanek to use his skill.

Dont take this the wrong way, but if that trade happens, im coming to your house and kicking you right square in the junk for proposing it.

Nash doesn't need a playmaker. He's had an awful team around him in Columbus for years. Yes, his numbers are similar to Vanek's, but had he been playing in Buffalo and Vanek in Columbus, I don't think Vanek would be anywhere near Nash as far as numbers go.
