And we will have to get rid of some of the youth that will be playing along side of Grigs and Zemg if we trade for Statsny. I hate to say this but I dont want Luke Adam to be some throw in player in a trade for a guy like Statsny, same with Pysyk. Adam could very well be a 30 goal scorer in the NHL.

Stastny is a leader in the Avalanche locker room. I remember another former Avs C whos value and production dipped and we bought low and made him a star again.

If we lose out on Bobby Ryan, and cant make any more additions to our team, I hope you guys are happy with Hodgson centering the first line. We'll be in for a long year.

i think we need to get a big time winger, definitely get rid of stafford, maybe flip vanek if it's for nash, but most of all, unless we're ready to trade ennis or hodgson, we need to just go with what we have and wait for the young bucks we got in the draft to develop and then we'll be an elite fighting force, if they develop properly.

i don't see the point of getting a center, and not a big-game winger, in addition to having girgorenko, girgenson, ennis, and hodgson for 3-4 spots with 5 guys unless one of them is traded or flanks the wing.

we'd still have foligno, vanek, pominville and armia.

it anything bobby ryan makes the most sense because he can spot duty as center and is primarily a big winger. if they got ryan AND nash and shipped out vanek, stafford and a bunch of other stuff that wouldn't matter to be because we got nash and ryan, then who really cares about a big time center when you have superstars and young centers that are learning.

He has multiple options. Handful of places he can go. He can go play with Koivu and Heatley. He can go play with Toews and Hossa. Or he can go play with Crosby and Malkin.

i completely agree with that sentiment but if we get stastny, what are we going to do with ennis, hodgson, and the two guys we just got. we've got a logjam or players that are going to take so time, why would we want to rush things with bringing in a lafontaine-like staple to our team with all of these other guys that we won't have room for then.

to be honest with you, i'm not really disagreeing with what you're saying at all but i just think the sabres have a confusing roster atm, and something has to break and somebody we don't want to see go almost has to get traded for any of this to take shape coherently imo.
