Manayunk Mike tweeting Flyers have agreed to a 1 year deal with Bruno Gervais in the area of 1 mill. - MBFlyerfan
wake me up when they sign Doan. |

Yeah i called him out on that. He blamed it on the heat and called it a mistype. Besides that he has had some pretty good calls over the past few months. - MBFlyerfan

going with the kids
I'm excited
also think their needs going forward are pretty well defined
one more skilled winger, a puck moving defenseman preferably someone with a good PP shot, maybe some more size on the wing? - Marc D
I think the Flyers did the right thing letting Jagr walk and Carle. Homer has the option of trading or adding some pieces. This team has a lot of young guys ready for bigger roles. Homer is going to add something before the summer is out. It's a process and having some cap space isn't terrible bc next years of UFAs has some nice players. |

He might be just a bling squirell. He runs a website called http://talksportsphilly.com/ where Bodiva would have a field day on his use of the word WHERE in the headline that pops up....
He has 95,000 plus followers..... |

Pretty much. I guess it's better for the ratings to rile the masses up with vitriolic nonsensical outrage as opposed to being diligent and knowledgeable. - JoeRussomanno

I'm more worried about the Carle departure than Jagr really. I think Jagr can be replaced in house (Voracek) and Carle we might actually not miss. Hey maybe for once the haters were right! Other wise I think the Flyers can make a move for one of the remaining UFA dmen to fill that void. |

His act is just wearing thin. it seems like unless there's a hot model being interviewed or a reason to rip someone (warranted or not) he's not really... relevant. I miss Eskin and I think the Eagles signing Vick annoyed the hell out of him. Don't think he felt like debating with Reese about him every day during football season so he switched gears. The only one on that station I really like anymore is Rob Ellis, all the rest are kinda meh. |

Sounds like Scott Howson is hoping for the kind of deal other GM's get when they call up Scott Howson.

He registered 5 fewer points than Jagr while playing between the 3rd and 2nd line. As for who replaces Voracek, I'll venture as to say Wellwood. Also Schenn will improve that I have no doubt he's a 20 goal maybe 25 assists guy. |

I agree with you..Ellis is the best out of them. I used to love hearing him on saturdays afternoon on the way up to new york. |

Mez will fill Carles role. Now Schenn and another will have to pair the third line. I think mez should be able to move up he has the skills. This team will add some pieces but I still like what we have. Next order of business is get a deal done with Voracek. |

I don't always agree with him but at least he tries to be objectionable and not fly off the handle. He really won me over when he called Richards and Carter, Lieberthal/Abreu, I was howling. |

sounds good, I just wanna see how this d-corps pans out. Can't really judge them until they've played a few games as is. |

Provided his surgically repair disc problem doesn't become a chronic problem.
Am I the only one worried about a 38 year old Timonen coming off multiple surgeries, Meszaros coming off disc surgery, and Grossmann having two potentially bad knees? Say what you want about Carle, he was durable.

I'm worried about Timonen, yes. With Meszaros having already comeback to play after that injury, I'm leaning toward he'll be more than ok to start the season. |

And after re-signing Voracek, which shouldn't be a problem. Holmgren should turn his sights on approaching Scott Hartnell and see if they can come up with a fair deal for an extension. |

Injuries happen over the course of a season but the Flyers have depth not all star caliber but serviceable. Only Timmonen concerns me bc of age but like I said before homer will get someone if he doesn't believe kimmo has much left. |
