You could look at it that way, but that would be an incorrect way to look at it, in my opinion. Doan is a UFA and has nothing to do with the proposed Ryan deal.
Voracek, MAB, and a 1st, is overpaying for Ryan. Throwing in Read, would be pure stupidity. Ryan isn't close to being that good of a player. - MJL

No use debating the past. He's gone. You may not like it, I may not like it, but Carle is gone.
In 7 out of 10 matchups, I still think the other team is more concerned about matching up against us than vice-versa.
Part of what I am anticipating is that the Flyers accept less offensive depth and use what I will call more of a checking line - Tablot Coots and Rusty.
I think Schenn will be on the wing this year and hopefully show what he did in the playoffs. I think he has an attitude that I like but can't wait to see more.
Simmonds may be starring in the sequel to the 1980 movie - my Bodyguard. Protecting Briere.
Harts G and Ryan doing the damage.
Time will tell. - Daman
Flyers lost some good players, but they still have a very good team in my opinion. All that matters now is what happens going forward.

Gotta try to keep the picks
Good read about 2013 draft prospects http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=637038 - ob18
"The Philadelphia Flyers grabbed Jeff Carter (No. 11) and Mike Richards (No. 24), and the Anaheim Ducks tabbed Ryan Getzlaf (No. 19) and Corey Perry (No. 28). The New Jersey Devils drafted Zach Parise at No. 17; the Vancouver Canucks took Ryan Kesler at No. 23."
That paragraph right there should tell people why some of these trade proposals are overpayment, in that we are sending over players with comparable talent levels and can still use that pick to draft an equally talented player. |

Carle can walk at that price but not happy with Gervais or Fedotenko signings. As long a Fedotenko is destined for bottom six maybe okay and Gervais a #7 I am okay. We still need to sign either Doan or Semin for Giroux. Semin could score 40+ playing with Roo. I am not convinced Jake93 is up to sniping on Roo's rw. He is a fixture on the pp at the point but Semin is a true sniper and game changer if motivated. Big if maybe?? |

Those will not stop, but people should read this and then want to keep our picks and if possible add more for the 2013 draft. |

I totally agree MJL, Doan should be the target or even Semin because you don't give up assets! Nash and Ryan are overated anyway and would not want Nash's contract or Ryan's next one. |

I would do Semin on a short term deal, he's good for at least half azzing his way to 20 goals a year.
Nash and Ryan totally agree, I think Schenn, simmonds and or Jake would give similar production in a year or two. Simmer just potted 28 goals so he's not far behind. |

Proposed trades for Ryan are laughable. It comes down to the fact that ANA loses some of its' advantage due to the fact that they have an unhappy player who wants to be traded. It's been said publicly and it's an inevitability. We should not have to overpay for the guy. Jake, MAB/Gus, and a 2nd should be fine. |

exactly. I'm not totally against getting the guy but the proposals are crazy high especially considering Anaheim is dealing from a position of weakness. |

I don't feel that Ryan being traded is inevitable. Good chance that he will. And I agree totally with your offer. That's about what I'd give up for Ryan.

I think these Ryan nash yandle trades are going to be on hold for a couple days until the Weber thing gets figured out. Poile wont go into the season without a long term commitment in my opinion. Hell want something for him after getting burned a bit. So exciting |

I would hesitate to trade Jake straight up for Ryan. Ryan is a good scorer but does not have Jake's skating or puck handling skills. Do not trade Jake for anything as he is only 22 and will only get much better. I think I will be a minority here but I have watched Ryan play at least 100 games now and he is similar to Nash, drives the net well with great individual moves but not a real great passer, a lot like Carter who was one dimensional. |

I would say your 100 times of watching him is probably 95 times more than some of these Lobbyists. |

I disagree that they are dealing from a position of weakness. Supply and demand. At this point Nash, Ryan, Doan are the desired targets. Doan is likely staying in Phoenix, but even if he leaves, only one team gets him. Detroit, Flyers, Rangers, Penguins, Sharks, Leafs, and a number of others are all very interested in the three. Those are all bold teams. Someone will blink. Then a rival will blink. And blinking means overpaying. |
