Nah. Time will tell between the two. I think both are great prospects but it's certainly too early to tell who will have the better career.
This all started because QP laughed at someone have Scheifele ranked ahead of Tarasenko. This isn't the first time I've seen this type of ranking so I'm not sure it deserved a laugh.
It's pretty much a toss up right now. When was the last russian not drafted in the top 5 to make a real impact in the NHL? - stormeyAlterEgo
Datsyuk, or if you want to include belrussians, Grabbo. |

He's a good talent, but placing him ahead of Tarasenko is nonsense.
Never liked the pick for Winnipeg. He came out of nowhere and had a pretty good season, but he was a reach at #7, especially with guys like Couturier and Hamilton still on board. - QuebecPride

as i keep saying every year since more than 10 years, the habs need a franchise player and they will go nowhere without one...
and this year its Rick Nash, whatever the price is....but again it wont happen. Same thing every year but different name. |

So it doesn't matter who it is, so long as it's a "big name"?
Well then, Bergevin should acquire Luongo. That's a franchise guy. Problem solved. |

Ben Maxwell > Milan Lucic, we all know it.
(frank) he would have looked good in a Habs jersey. |

Pateryn is not good according to QP, and so he won't be on the team.
I wouldn't mind Diaz as a 6 or 7, but nothing more. Weber sucks.
Bobby Ryan? That "+" after Eller better be something VERY good. - hscesq

Greg Pateryn is far from NHL ready Eric.
The only youngster on D that could potentially make the jump straight to the NHL would be Tinordi.
I think Weber will be traded to a team in need of PP help, for a 2nd-tier prospect.
I would keep Diaz, and try to trade Kaberle.
Bobby Ryan will cost too much to trade for. We're better off to wait for our big guys to come up. Odds are Galchenyuk will be ready next year. - QuebecPride
I love how you say this so definitively, as though you went to Michigan and scouted him this season. The kid is real solid, and from the scouts and people I've spoken to, he could be a surprise make in camp. |

Eric, Pateryn is not NHL ready. He has the physical attributes to play in it but will need a long period of adjustment to the speed of the game and the players.
He plays a positional game but even then he'll need to get faster. |
