remember when we called him Fedostinko...you guys have short memories - vejim
I just remember him - always - lighting us up when he was on other teams. |

Weber is getting overrated. I would offer no more than Read, Gus, and a 3rd round pick. - Daman
I think if the Flyers throw Shelley in, that would seal the deal! |

I also posted this time last yr that homer needed to get out in front of this when they had more assets to trade. - isaiah520

If the Flyers do stand pat, Enstrom should become a prime trade target around deadline time.
The ideal replacement for Kimmo. - LordStanley88
I see Enstrom as more of a replacement for Carle, then Timonen. I don't see Enstrom as a #1 defenseman like Timonen was in his prime here. |

No, it wouldn't because guys like Jake, Meszy, etc. would be going the other way. - LordStanley88
Apparently were talking two different things here. |

weber will be traded and if we can sign doan we would have to give up either schenn, courterir +read/jake + 1 or 2 dman and 2 first picks easy.
2 young forwards, 2 young dmen and 2 picks |

I love Weber and would love him here but what it would take to get him in a trade is just too rich for me. I just think it would create too many holes elsewhere. |

Because you're completely misreading the core of my post.
Financials aside, which I don't think will be an issue anyways, would you move Read and Jake in a deal for Weber right now given the fact that we've lost forward depth already this summer? |

I don't. Enstrom would instantly QB the PP on the 1st unit and is fully capable of scoring 50-60 points. Defensively, he still needs to improve, but his positioning has gotten better. |

I think that guy - what's his name??? Oh, yeah Suter. Yeah, he'd make a great replacement for Timonen.... |

I just wouldn't do it. Honestly, they've had Weber and Suter there for the last so many years with a stellar D and goaltending but average scoring and have not gotten far. Deleting as much as what it will take and adding Weber just puts us in the same position. I know they don't have a Giroux like the Flyers but still, It just creates so many holes and the Flyers don't exactly have grade A prospect waiting in the wings. the grade A prospects are already on the team

Not worth it... to much. (not that I'd do this deal...) But, it would probably be less damaging to the overall team - if it was Giroux for Weber straight up. |

Agreed. I think he's a lifer with Phoenix. Wouldn't mind at all seeing him in o&b though.
Not a fan of Semin. Let NJ have him. - Scoob
I think we need more size like Jagr had than finesse, but there
isn't much quality out there in FA land. So if Doan is out it looks like a
trade is the only option which gets into addition by subtraction. I think
Homer is full of it when he says he's done shopping. |

(frank) no last time the flyers did something THIS stupid it brought us lindros and quebec went on to win the cup as the AVS. I say no (frank)ing way let someone else blow up there org for one guy. knowing our luck he gets a second conky and is out for the rest of his thirteen year contract...too much risk for one guy. |

I wouldn't call the Lindros deal "stupid". Injuries derailed it sure, but the Flyers were a force in the mid-90's as a sole result of the trade. |

in hindsight it was stupid AVS won cup we got Lindros highlight reels to look at. When lindros was playing the team was good...when he was out forget about it... |

If I recall the Avs also got some other pieces along the way. Little known players like Roy and Bourque. |

If Weber does decide to leave, do you think Polie trades him before the season starts, or at the deadline? |

Roy was traded for a package that included Jocelyn Thibault as the center piece. Which was the flyers first rd pick that they sent to AVS (quebec) for lindros.. |
