I love Weber and would love him here but what it would take to get him in a trade is just too rich for me. I just think it would create too many holes elsewhere. - nastyflyergirl
i agree. pursue if he becomes a free agent. |

DOAN UPDATE: I'm told Doan may not want 2 join #Flyers because of the whole Bryzgalov situation. Unsure where he stands with Bryz right now.

in hindsight it was stupid AVS won cup we got Lindros highlight reels to look at. When lindros was playing the team was good...when he was out forget about it... - Philly1980
The other main piece of that trade was obviously Forsberg. Would he have been as great as he was without Sakic, etc??

Roy was traded for a package that included Jocelyn Thibault as the center piece. Which was the flyers first rd pick that they sent to AVS (quebec) for lindros.. - Philly1980
Sakic....
And it's not as if the Flyers would've had Roy had they held onto the pick. |

This is a prime example of why it is difficult to debate on the internet.
You make it sound as if Montreal's horrible trade with Colorado was somehow a result of Philadelphia's involvement.
I guess you can play six degrees of Kevin Bacon with these sort of things, so I won't pursue this much further. |

Thats wonderful. My point being would he been as good as he was if he wasn't traded? No one knows, just looking at it from the other side of the coin.

No this is a prime example of what happens when you trade 6 guys and future for 1 guy. sure it will make you good but is it worth trading all of that potential? Often times we have to use history to try and figure out the future.
How many teams have traded six guys and that guy has taken them to the cup (and win it all)?
Its been shown time and time again that depth wins cups. |
