wow you'd make a lousy prosecutor, just want you to know that. - JoeRussomanno
But we're not trying to prove this in the court of law. Burden of proof is much much lower in the court of popular opinion
Seriously, though, if you don't believe me try to google some player interviews from March. Or reach out to Bill or any of the local beatwriters to get their opinion on what was said and the intent behind it.
It's not even my argument, but I do agree with aso that there may be a perception among players about Bryz ability to win a championship.
An analogy. Whether Carter and Richards really had a coke problem or not is debatable. But obviously word got out to players as evidenced by the Canucks players (i think) pretending to snort coke to Richards in the playoffs.

60 inch & no HD?, (thats a first that I heard, usually a screen that big will have HD)
I'm wishing my (5 year old), 40 inch sony will die so I can upgrade, can't until it's dead.
But I agree with you, the HD makes it that I don't miss it going to the game as much either, but a few games a year is still ok. Just not as often. - puckhead17
Dude my parents grew up with black and white hell I think my dad said he didn't have a tv in the house until he was like 6 or 7. Giving them HD would be like handing me a flying saucer

u won't miss going to games as much trust me. - JoeRussomanno
I get to watch a number of games in HD, too. There's still no beating being at the game. There so much more going on, the TV camera just can't catch everything. Behind the play, on the benches, in the penalty box, the crowd, there's so much more going on than even the impressive 2,073,600 glorious pixels of HD television can represent.
That said, I'm quite content to watch most games on television.
It's a language thing with Bryz a bit and unfortunately he got his stock answers mixed up. After a 45 save shutout and basically winning the game singlehandedly Bryz is supposed to deflect credit and say to the press "Guys, it's a team game". But he got confused, after one of his several poor outings, when questioned by the media, he said "Guys, it's a team game". So he really didn't mean to sound like he was throwing his team under the bus, he merely used response#2 instead of response #3. I suspect that with another summer of memorization, Bryz will be fielding reporters' questions as if they were blue line wrist shots.

I reach out to bill everyday, I read his blog, you should try it sometime. Here's the link to where he actually wrote in length about Bryzgalov. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=45082
I don't see much of anything about his work ethic other than mentioning his dissagreement with Reese's style. That is not saying he lacks work ethic, which according to you is the reason, for the locker room talks. If anything after reading that I am only reinforced with the notion that the Locker room talks were geared toward his handling of the media. A far cry from work ethic but apparently how a player handles the media is how good they are according to some of the General Managers that post anonymously on hockeybuzz.

I completely agree. I'm married to a native Chinese woman and the differences in how North Americans handle certain things and other cultures is completely different.
And really, I'm not trying to bash Bryz at all. I really really want him to succeed here.
I was just agreeing with aos that there might be a negative perception about his ability to win a cup, and it might affect some players decision to sign here or not. Might being the key word.
you should have tried reading it too. All it says in there is about how he needs to handle the media not how he needs to work harder i.e work ethic.
To summarize From the get-go, both goalie coach Jeff Reese and general manager Paul Holmgren have said that Bryz’s biggest problem has been adjusting the every-day media scrutiny here and living up to his nine-year, $51 million contract.
also here's a clip that should enlighten you to the level of seriousness to take some of these stories. Infer what you want afterwards about the quality of reporting being provided cough TMZ
Edit: read this too because evidently somethings were taken out of context with those original statments

I read the blog. This completely substantiates my position. From the blog:
"At any rate, there appears to be a negative perception of Bryzgalov as a teammate by many players around the league."
"At any rate, there appears to be a negative perception of Bryzgalov as a teammate by many players around the league."
"More recently, Nashville Predators forward Martin Erat gave a rather bizarre interview in which he understandably praised teammate Pekka Rinne but also specifically singled out Bryzgalov as a goalie whom he would have difficulty feeling confidence in as a teammate."
Read the above and the article I linked. The whole discussion is about the potential, again...potential....that a negative perception of Bryz would hinder a FA coming here. I made the statement that Flyers players specifically spoke to him and then subsequently commented in such a way that illustrated the nature of those talks...be a better teammate, work harder, don't talk about yourself...focus on the team, etc.
I think I've proved that.
Defense rests.
And seriously Joe, I'm not trying to make it a personal argument. Just a debate on a position.

YEa and Scotty Hartnell tells Dion Phaneuf to suck it. But I guess since those two don't like each other they'd never play on the same team either.
also no where in there says he lacks work ethic. Show me where something credible i.e a teammate, coach, towel boy etc. says his work ethic is lacking.
