you should have tried reading it too. All it says in there is about how he needs to handle the media not how he needs to work harder i.e work ethic.
To summarize
From the get-go, both goalie coach Jeff Reese and general manager Paul Holmgren have said that Bryz’s biggest problem has been adjusting the every-day media scrutiny here and living up to his nine-year, $51 million contract.

also here's a clip that should enlighten you to the level of seriousness to take some of these stories. Infer what you want afterwards about the quality of reporting being provided cough TMZ

Edit: read this too because evidently somethings were taken out of context with those original statments

Seriously, what is he supposed to say after the fact? He was probably more candid then he meant to be, thinking that now that Bryz is playing well it's all water under the bridge. I don't think that invalidates the original comments. I think he realized he spoke too much and is trying to backtrack.

No it means business as usual with the local Philly media. Stetch exaggerate and manipulate the facts to generate readers to their sites. Also for all we know the player's meeting could have been for any and all players struggling. Let's not forget Briere was in the middle of a something like two month, 20-30games goal drought, that meeting could have been for him as well. Players struggle, teammates help them through it, doesn't mean they have bad work ethic, or are bad teammates. Seeing that Bryzgalov went from night to day between Philly and Phoenix I think a player's meeting might have been in order at some point in the season. But no that makes him a deterrent for other players to come here, and he has bad work ethic. Again lousy prosecutor.

YEa and Scotty Hartnell tells Dion Phaneuf to suck it. But I guess since those two don't like each other they'd never play on the same team either.

also no where in there says he lacks work ethic. Show me where something credible i.e a teammate, coach, towel boy etc. says his work ethic is lacking.

It seems that you are focused on my comment about work ethic. I really do remember specific comments from players saying he was working harder in practice, but frankly I don't feel like looking them up. So I take back that specific comment. Doesn't change the argument.

Can you give me anything credible which has stated that Bryzgalov would deter players from coming here?
- JoeRussomanno

That is what we are really debating. Whether it is his work ethic, goofy behavior, lack of concentration in games, focus on I rather than we...doesn't really matter.

So now...statements from Bill's blog illustrating perception around the league...interviews from teammates here about the need to "be a better teammate". I think that backs up my claim.

THe work ethic statement is what I'm arguing.

As for the statements of players around the league, really Martin Erat can kiss me where the sun don't shine. Sounds like he's a lousy teammate.

If anything should be taken from that whole "locker-room/teammate talk thing" it should be there was an issue, the players addressed it, and the guy went on to become PLAYER of the month for the whole league. But he's a terrible guy to play with and can't win in the league.

So correct me if I'm wrong (god I hate financials, leave that poop to the accountants and lawyers ) but what I am inferring here is that the owners are just greedy bastaches.

Sorry, just caught the end of Fast Times at Ridgemont High but missed the best part!

Again, perception is reality. Hoping that the perception doesn't exist but I wouldn't be surprised if it does. Hopefully Bryz has a good and uneventful season...it will go a long way towards changing it. Going far in the playoffs won't hurt either.

there's some real interesting perceptions out there.

make an inference on what I think of people who have certain perceptions.

Anyone else watching Flyers/Pens ECQF on TCN? Reinforcing my hopes that Homer doesn't trade away the young guys. Schenn with a goal and 2 assists, Coots shutting down Malkin.

I'd love to see Doan here, but at a reasonable price - in terms of both salary and years (3 at most). Demand probably means he ends up elsewhere if PHX doesn't keep him.

Doan's two folded impact is why I value him over the Ryan/Nash type of guy. He brings a ton of leadership and grit, and he's also a nasty bastard on the ice.

My lone hang-up is the term as an over 35 deal.

It would be okay as a 2 year deal but that's likely a pipe dream

I could be convinced to go 4 if he was going to sign in Pittsburgh or NY
