Big = smaller than Eller, obviously. - PRICEless
The point is that I, like many people, think Galchenyuk will be elite. You don't draft what most predict to be an elite centreman and play him on the wing because there's an abundance of incumbent centres in the lineup already. You move guys and make room for him.
Replacing wingers is easier than replacing centres. |

He needs another year of junior. Plus if Yakupov makes the Oilers then it will be a good test for Galchenyuk to prove himself. |

Galchenyuk can be just as elite as a winger. Nothing stops him from that.
The point is that if Galch, by some stretch of imagination, was to make the club next year, the logical move to make would be to put him on Eller's wing.
Now, you can be as obsessed as you want about him being the future "big #1 center" but all that does is making you people have tunnel vision. Eller could perfectly turn out to be that big center and Galchenyuk could just as well turn out to be a dynamic, physical scoring winger rather than a center. |

Eller is a bigger center than Galchenyuk.
Galchenyuk isnt a pure center, he plays all positions.
Eller plays center well at the NHL level but is a poopty winger.
Galchenyuk isnt even at the NHL level yet.
Still, lets take the guy with 0 NHL experience, put him at center and shove the guy who cant play as a winger to the wing. Because (frank) logic, that's why.
/facepalm
You guys are so (frank)ing obviously not-dumb that it baffles me completely. - PRICEless

Oh wow now that's a really poor argument.... Eller doesnt weigh 200 no, he weighs 198...
Eller and Galchenyuk have right about the same measurements.
Oh and by your own standards Alex isnt big either. |

I think Mtl should sign Mueller for a contract similar to what Latendresse got in Ottawa. Low risk, potential for a high reward. |

His nickname is Gally not Galch u (frank)ing dumb(frank)er and he is a center and will be the Habs #1 Center in 2 years after another year playing Center at Sarnia.

I won't complain if he plays in Junior. But whenever he makes the NHL, it should not be as a winger. |

AgrEEd.
As for Eller.. I know he wasn't shinning last year on the wing. But I still think that he can be properly COACHED into becoming a good winger. He's got size the hands, the speed and the vision to adapt.
I wouldn't mind seeing him next to Gally just to see 2 speedy players with decent size and great hands/vision play on the same line. |

Mueller is a whiny female dog who demanded a trade when told he had to backcheck and try hard.
