Sounds like Latendresse. I therefore agree that he should be given a contract similar to Tenderness. |

this team hasn't had a #1 centre since Turgeon/Damphousse. we draft a high-skill centre at #3 overall. and you want to put him on the wing to make room for Lars Eller? |

The point is that I, like many people, think Galchenyuk will be elite. You don't draft what most predict to be an elite centreman and play him on the wing because there's an abundance of incumbent centres in the lineup already. You move guys and make room for him.
Replacing wingers is easier than replacing centres. - mcmanmat
Well Boston did it with Seguin.
Didn't work out that badly. |

That's because Bergeron/Krejci are better than Eller. |

You need to re-read.
First you seem to forget that this is all in the context of Gally™ making the team next year (wich is a stretch anyway).
Now, what i'm saying is that in the event where he would miraculously make the team next year, for all the reasons that i've given, the logical move would be to put Gally, who is NOT a "pure" center on the wing next to Eller who just so happens to suck as a winger. I'm not "making room for Eller", i'm simply putting players in positions where they're most likely to succeed. |

Finding top-6 wingers is easier than a top-6 centre. Seeing how they already drafted one, I fail to see why you would convert him to wing. Be that this year, next year, or 5 years down the road. You simply don't do it.
Also, where are you getting this "he's not a PURE centre" from? |
