I would rather split Kane and Sharp for size reasons.
Sharp Toews Doan
Then either
Stalberg Kane Hossa
Or
Carcillo Kane Hossa - Ogilthorpe2
Can Doan play left wing? I wouldn't mind seeing a Doan-Toews-Kane line myself.

Agreed. Kruger centering Sharp and Hossa can't be too shabby. |

I was going to take that post as a compliment, but since you mentioned that fact, I'm not so sure any longer.
Good catch. |

I am a long way from Montreal so I could be missing something but I don't see it...Thought maybe some who watch more closely would...
I don't see why Montreal would think of trading Subban. - Al
The only thing I can see, and do not know for sure from a distance, but perhaps Montreal is loaded with young defencemen and lack offensive high end talent in their system. Where it could be argued opposite for Hawks. Then again, I do not have any superior knowledge to the Canadiens system. |

I think, if you convince Doan to come to Chicago...you let him play whatever (frank)ing position he wants to, and figure the rest out later. |

There are better centers Doan can play with.
Nash costs you Kane.
Why would you want Semin? - John Jaeckel
I'd take him on the flyers if he'd agree to a 2-3 year $5.5 AAV max. Most of us would if you read the Meltzer thread. Great talent, unreal +/- (although I have no idea how), fantastic shooter. 2 problems - 1) Takes shifts off which will drive me crazy I'm sure and 2) it sounds like he has a $30 million contract waiting for him in the KHL - which of course no NHL team will match.
EDIT - plus if Philly had Semin they could ship Voracek, Read + for Bobby Ryan. Semin adds the depth to pull it off. Same goes for Chicago. I think you get Semin you can trade Kaner for the legit 2C thats been evading your club. I wouldn't keep them both (Semin and Kane) because they both exhibit poor work ethic on the ice. What a headache that would be for Captain Serious. |

Last July 1 was a great example of "you can fool all of the people some of the time." I remember the almost universal praise for Stan's moves last summer. |

I don't hate Semin as a player actually, but with Hossa and Sharp how much room do you have for another scoring winger, when you have a gaping hole at 2C. Dunno, I just don't see a need for him on this team. Plus the dressing room stuff, which I hear is an issue, albeit maybe not as bad as some would like to believe.

Why aren't the Hawks considering putting Kruger on the block? I might be alone on this one but I think him and Bolland fill the same roles on this team... Bolland being the better of the two, obviously. |

Good point....I revise my previous proposal:
Hjalmarsson, Kruger, Emery, pick...for Stastny and Giguere |

I've said this before, but I would move him because I fear for his health long term. Kruger needs to take lessons from Shaw on the fine art of almost getting creamed. Those big hits along the boards always seem to juuuuuuuuuuust miss Shaw, but every one seems to catch Kruger dead on. I don't see Kruger having a long career taking that kind of punishment regularly. |
