I can confirm that Kane's name has been mentioned several times in these discussions. But ‪#BlackHawks‬ price way 2high for ‪#Habs‬ right now.

Kane appears to be off the table.

Says who? Other than Jesse Rogers who never thinks anyone should be traded ever because he likes all of them. I mean I don't think he will be traded but who said he is off the table? I agree with what JJ has said many times, Kane will likely be dealt for the right return, but that might not be until the trade deadline, if the right deal even comes along.

I thought this year was largely a make or break campaign for him...in the Hawks organization anyhow.

I'll believe it right after he's introduced to the hawk nation at the pressor.

I still highly doubt Kane goes anywhere. He brings alot to the table for this team.. and much more than just hockey that alof of us tend to focus on. For all of his off ice antics that seem to bother alot of fans... he is a great player and a huge draw in this league.

I also still don't see the need to add yet another stud D man. We have 2 already. Or if we are looking at add yet another one, maybe the two we have aren't good enough to anchor the blue line? I still maintain getting a bigger top 6 helps team defense out in a big way.

And in terms of second line Center. Nice to have anoher one? Sure. Not a need though. We again have the top 3 Centers from the Cup team. Throw on top of that Frolik and Shaw can play there. And... we have Danault, McNeil and Hayes in the pipeline. Don't see this as big a priority as bigger guys to play with Sharp, Kane, Toews and Hossa at ALL...

Keep Kane. Sign Doan. Trade Hammer, Stalberg and a prospect/pick for a more rugged blue liner with a shot. That's what I will continue to say we should do.
