For the record, I'm on board with a Saad for Bernier trade. - EKolb13
I don't like waiting on prospects unless I know they can make a difference. Saad I think can make a difference at this level soon (next year?) However, hes not untouchable in my eyes (in SB eyes maybe) Depending on what else goes out to LA and comes back I would consider it. |

I'd agree that Saad has to be Bowman's favorite pet prospect at the moment. I haven't seen enough of him to really formulate my own opinion.
As of right now, the only prospect I'd like to see marked as "untouchable" is Danault. I think Bowman really has a good player there. |

Would like to see Leddy in this trade scenario instead of Hammer.... With Hammer gone, that just seems like too many offensive minded Dmen in the lineup for the Hawks, IMO...
Also, gonna need a guy like Bollig in the lineup every night if they do get Subban due to all the instigating Subban starts.... |

Kane is far better than Krejci, talent wise. I'd think Boychuck and Hjalmarsson are about equal value, so that's a wash. At this point, Crawford has value because he will play.
And you want the Hawks to kick a pick into the deal? Get real!
What are you smoking, 'cause its got to be good sh!t! - EKolb13
this is a true statement if the only thing you look at from a talent perspective is "soft hands"
Krejci has better vision and passing ability. He can also win faceoffs and play in both ends of the rink.
I agree Kane is talennted and i would like to see him come to boston but we are giving up a huge piece in Krejci
And Crawford has proven he is not a starter, therefore his stock drops and will be put into a back-up postition |

You won't need Bollig in the line-up every night. Bollig should have a roster spot, because it seems he's the only heavyweight fighter they have. |

I don't disagree and I think the Hawks would likely pay a decent price for him but, like I said, I don't see Lombardi willingly solving a significant roster issue for a competitor |

Less than that. Like I said the deal in terms of value is fair but obtaining Kane and Hjarmasson would mean the Habs eating cap space and not addressing our issues at all.
We'd have a gaping whole down the middle and a severe lack of D on the back end.
I just don;t see it happening - willey101
This.
Also Bergevins been trying to bring in character players this off-season.Kane doesn't really fit that mold. This just feels too much like Savard for Chelios.

Wonder what it'd take to sign him money wise, given contracts like Wideman and Carle.
The total cost to the 'Hawks could be a couple million more than the combined cost of Kane/Hammer.
'Hawks have to carefully consider that depending on whether or not they're still gonna (I hope they can and do it) sign Winnik and Hannan, plus have some TDL money left. - blackhawk24
In the words of Captain Jack Sparrow, "To what point and purpose?" That TDL space was worth as much last year as a losing lottery ticket. |

The added physicality of Brookbank, Hannan, Winnik and of course Doan, with full seasons of Shaw & Carcillo, coupled with moving Kane & Hammer makes this team 10x more difficult to play against.
Now they have their 2C. Hoss can be slotted at 1R, Sharpie at 1L and Bolly stays at 3C. Now all 3 D-pairing have one guy with a RHS.
I don't have any new goalies since I believe CC will be closer to his 1st season than his 2nd. This coupled with the fact the team is far more balanced and way more physical. |

No. Matt Carle just got 5.5 million with 38 points. PK had 36 and their splits aren't that different. Taking into account that PK is rfa instead of ufa he should get less but not that much less. Probably around 4-4.5 mil. |

That's the thing, all this talk about Saad being ready . . . when he stuck early on last year, he was invisible. When he played toward the end of the year, he acquitted himself pretty well positionally but did nothing offensively. This is a guy who historically has dominated lower levels of competition but takes time to (or doesn't) adjust to higher levels of competition. That's not to write him off but all this hype over some gaudy junior numbers really needs to be put into perspective.
Bowman makes me sick when he overhypes the prospects—mostly because it really now seems to be an excuse for his being timid with making moves for proven NHL players.
it is a sad statement on this organization's personnel function that an ostensibly Cup competing team has to rush junior-aged players to the NHL to fill areas of need. And that is what Bowman did last year and apparently wants to do this year—while sitting on available cap space.
Clock's ticking, Stanley. |

250 assists in 400 games and hes "the best passer in the league?"
Im sorry but that is hysterical |
