this is a true statement if the only thing you look at from a talent perspective is "soft hands"
Krejci has better vision and passing ability. He can also win faceoffs and play in both ends of the rink.
I agree Kane is talennted and i would like to see him come to boston but we are giving up a huge piece in Krejci
And Crawford has proven he is not a starter, therefore his stock drops and will be put into a back-up postition - TendyLyfe02
So you're going to try and make an argument for Thomas having value over Crawford? The guy isn't going to (frank)ing play? Where's the (frank)ing value in that?
Kane trumps Krejci talent wise. That's all fine and dandy that he's a quality center. So he can take faceooffs? That's all he has on Kane.
And the Hawks are supposed to throw a pick into the mix?

In the words of Captain Jack Sparrow, "To what point and purpose?" That TDL space was worth as much last year as a losing lottery ticket. - NewToHockey
Still need it. I think SB tried but enthusiasm was curtailed by Rocky due to the impending CBA crisis. Much has changed since 27-Feb. |

Would honestly love that deal, LOVE PK! if they threw in a couple seconds or a 1st (maybe?) i would feel even better. I mean i dont think the Canadians to do very well (sorry habs fans its just an opinion) So if they could get the habs first that would be awesome. |

Chicago fans may disagree, but to me. Plekanec=Hjalmarsson and Subban=Kane. Subban has the potential to be a number one physical offensive defensemen. - _Zippy_
Disagree...
Hawks give away top3 forward and top4 defensive defenceman for a top4 offensive defenceman and top6 forward...that's why I said Habs should add a pick, 2nd rounder or something...
Subban is so overrated... |

I'd agree that Saad has to be Bowman's favorite pet prospect at the moment. I haven't seen enough of him to really formulate my own opinion.
As of right now, the only prospect I'd like to see marked as "untouchable" is Danault. I think Bowman really has a good player there. - EKolb13
The only thing I dont like about Danault is that he's small 6'0" 170lbs. I think he can be a good 3rd line, maybe 2nd line, center. Hes got a good work ethic though |

250 assists in 400 games and hes "the best passer in the league?"
Im sorry but that is hysterical - TendyLyfe02
Great, another self professed "expert" who reads box scores.

The Kings are looking to trade Bernier because he requested a trade. I'm sure they'd love to keep him, but he's leaving at the end of season for sure so either now or by the trade deadline - eric.killham
He's an RFA next year, so the Kings still control his rights, and whether he stays or goes. |

Thomas is not playing for BOSTON next season, who knows who he'll play for or if he wont play at all. He may play if he gets traded to a team like CHI. But if youre fine with having a tandem of 2 back-up goalies thats okay with me..
and Krejci is a way better two-way player then kane as well |

Watch that kid play sometime. He reminds me a lot of Bolland, and Danault wins faceoffs. |

Laugh all you want. He is. Especially along the half-boards. His vision and timing is awesome. If he were even the size of Hossa and had Hossa's 2-way mentality, he'd be world class all around and possibly the best player in the entire league. - blackhawk24
(frank) that guy. He's just jealous 'cause his team is hamstrung by Thomas' cap hit. |

Would be a thing of beauty to see Kane go.
Then the Hawks could become my 2nd favourite team again, which has been on hold since drafting Kane. |

he may not be the "best"...but he is definitely top 5. easily.
he always makes at least one pass a game that should lead to an easy finish...stalberg and the likes can't finish |

hes a great talent and yes he is a great passer.... but to say hes the best with players like crosby, sedins, thronton and the list goes on and on and on....
thats like me saying kessel is hands down the most natural goal scorer in the league
just not true |

That's the thing, all this talk about Saad being ready . . . when he stuck early on last year, he was invisible. When he played toward the end of the year, he acquitted himself pretty well positionally but did nothing offensively. This is a guy who historically has dominated lower levels of competition but takes time to (or doesn't) adjust to higher levels of competition. That's not to write him off but all this hype over some gaudy junior numbers really needs to be put into perspective.
Bowman makes me sick when he overhypes the prospects—mostly because it really now seems to be an excuse for his being timid with making moves for proven NHL players.
it is a sad statement on this organization's personnel function that an ostensibly Cup competing team has to rush junior-aged players to the NHL to fill areas of need. And that is what Bowman did last year and apparently wants to do this year—while sitting on available cap space.
Clock's ticking, Stanley. - John Jaeckel
Bingo!! Bang on!!
You left out overpaid over the hill players being used to fill needs.
Now get something done....if not can someone fire his sorry ass and take that clown McD with him.....I'm tired of this crap.

Dude get a clue. I'm from London, Ontario. watched kane play live for a season. No question the kid has talent, but his p[assing ability is no where near:
H.Sedin
Crosby
St. Louis
Datsyuk
etc.................. |

Eats up $%MM cap space but doesn't cost a dime!!!!
Oh - wait - that's not the Hawks main issue, is it?

Yea I forgot hes a RFA. I dont know which tier though so I'm not sure what sort of compensation they would get. I assume hes fairly low though. Thats why LA wants a NHL ready player and I read a 1st round pick |
