if redirections are a function of luck than why do they spend time practicing ...so it must be a skill, like shooting a backhander into a wide open net. - Philly1980
Nobody can deflect a hard shot and have it go exactly where they want it to consistently. Nor can you practice making the puck get through the traffic in front of the net. You can practice getting your stick on the puck. I didn't think I would have to explain that the luck part is having the puck go in the net.

The puck has to somehow make it passed all the bodies in front... the skilled player makes contact with the puck... and then the puck after changing direction needs to make it somehow passed the goalie. No luck at all involved.

Perhaps you have a different interpretation of "consider this your one and only warning".

Proven as a quality Power forward that brings more to the table then just goals. - MJL
It's interesting to see just how far fans have come around when it comes to Hartnell. Rewind back to last summer and the tune was completely different -- falls down, stupid penalties, hands of stone, out of shape, overpaid, glorified third-liner, etc etc.
Now, 99% of fans can't fathom not extending him, immediately.

That tune was only with a few fans that were grossly uninformed.
Hartnell would probably be the most productive roster player the Ducks could squeeze out of any potential trading partner at this point -- not to mention it gives them the desired cap flexibility moving forward and a natural LW for Getzlaf/Perry.
As for the NTC, if they press him to waive, LA metro area would seem like a pretty good option for him. Carter and Richards are out there full-time, Lupul keeps a home there, and there's no denying that LA (and its proximity to Vegas) would have appeal to him off the ice. - Tomahawk
I'm not selling hartnell. The guy did what you asked him to do to a T. I've always been higher on him than most in here. [/img]

It's not the same fans. The fanbase is not a monolith.

No im pretty sure it was a lot of folks....i was @ game 4 vs boston and people were chanting hartnell sucks...i was disgusted.... - Philly1980
Not the same people there that post here. I had a chirper at Game 1 vs. NJ who said *he* could've scored 35 goals on Giroux's line. I told him to get downstairs and get dressed if it was that easy.
Thanks, Marc. I was accused of having a bromantic crush on him at the end of 2006-07 when I said I wanted the Flyers to sign him on July 1, 2007. Of course, Homer beat me to the punch (as per usual).
