Just because the Hawks are big on him doesn't mean he's big on the Hawks. Stan could be dead serious about getting Doan, but if the feeling's not mutual...doesn't mean squat. - Ogilthorpe2
Right, but when JJ said that, Al had disagreed, so I thought maybe JJ reconsidered and now thinks there is a better chance he lands with Chicago... |

Wait I'm confused....yesterday JJ, you said there was a 10% chance the Hawks would get Doan and today they're BIG on Doan? - Assman22

That wasn't meant as a bash to Plekanec but.....
If the Hawks are going to trade a Saad, Danault, McNeil, Clendenning, and I'm not saying they shouldn't necessarily....
Those players have to be part of a bigger name coming back like Stastny or Evander Kane. - Al
I understand you'd rather see your prospects being package for an even better player.
But Plekanec is a very good player and it would take more than a Danault to have him. |

So what do you think it would take to trade him (assuming the Habs actually are interested in doing so)?

Not considering a one for one but....
Danault and the others I mentioned should be saved for better than Plakanec in my opinion.
There are a half dozen other prospects that could be included in a tarde for Plekanec that would probably make the Habs happy. |

I won't be in town that weekend but by the time it goes down, 7/20-22 it'll be too late:
Doan will be signed. A MTL or EDM deal will be dead & secondary guys like Winnik & Hannan will be gone.
Then we'll find out a couple weeks later Hoss had a big setback and Kaner was photographed in yet another bad PR bar scene. |

There is a difference in writing what you are hearing and writing your own opinion.
I wrote Bolland was on the trading block awhile back because I heard from a good source....This was before Q. got his mojo back...so to speak.
But I didn't really agree with the concept of trading Bolland...
My thinking is the Hawks will go hard after Doan but the odds of him coming here in my view are more than 10% but not better than 33%....That's my opinion.

Can we keep it to hockey and keep the passive aggressive gay bashing off the site.

If you consider that on his last contract he's likely to be looking to a place he feels can win it all that would reduce the number of teams in contention to possibly, Vancouver, LA, SJ and the Hawks. That's assuming he stays in the WC. If you open it up to include the EC then there's a raft of potential suitors and the 'hawks chances diminish. I still say he stays in the WC and Vancouver has the best shot at signing him, Al. |

Can't wait to see this...imagine if they don't land Doan...they'll be in full "Daniel Carcillo will be w/ us for a full season" mode. Oh wait they already are.
I just heard from my insiders that they plan to move Stan to an undisclosed location before the opening ceremonies...and that as an additional precaution Mike Kitchen will be placed there as well... |

I think Montreal could be in the mix too...
My thinking is probably 4-6 teams.

No idea.
A good prospect and a decent player maybe? I can't say I know the value of the hawks prospects that well. |

I'm glad you said this. Sometimes people seem to think what you and JJ say are fact, rather than opinion or speculation. (Ex. McDonough running hockey operations.) Could be true, but its just speculation not a proven fact. |

He'd be a great leader for the Habs, no doubt about it. Bergevin likes some grit in his team too. |

I'm sure Carey Price called his cousin to convince him to join the Habs.
But with all the "contreversy" of him insulting a french lineman that one time, I would stay the hell away from that bullpoop if I was him. |

Al...do you think the Hawks should overpay for Doan to get the physical presence they need with Toews??? Would also allow Kane to take 2C full time.... |

The lines can get blurred easily but ...I think we as humans read and interpret as to what are own beliefs are....
When I write......I differentiate between what I am hearing, and what is my opinion.
The majority of what I write is my opinion.
