Who wants Dale Tallon back? He might be sloppy with paperwork but he knows how to pull the trigger on a deal! - katar525

Have another cup of kool aid
McD could not have written a better script than that. - Return of the Roar
Don´t know what that is. At least something we don´t have in Finland. And I know its cooler here to be mad and angry for just about everything Bowman does or doesn´t do. Call me naive or what you want but I like this team. At least there is Toews for every Zhamnov and Seabrook for every Mironov or Karpovtsev (R.I.P) or Kane for every Nylander and the list could go on..

Agreed. Last trade deadline sucked , this off season so far sucks, Stan is hovering at a c-/ D+ right now.
But Ill agree to that its not over yet. If Stan makes a good trade or signs useful pieces then the Hawks GM will get some love. - mrpaulish

Good joke - eric.killham
What's the joke? Col needs to get to the floor, they have Varlamov as their starter, and they have Seimens to take the place of SOB in a year or 2. Keith has worn out his play here, I feel Leddy will overtake his value soon.
The Blackhawks need to get Hossa his center, or else he will continue to work for nothing (no goals). |

I can't speak for the other supposed Bowman "Haters" but here it is in a nut shell.
With a very quiet offseason like this, coming off back to back 1st round losses you will have 2 groups: One that is waiting to say "I told you so" when they flame out again because the current roster is flawed OR the group that holds of criticism because they trust the management team.
I dno't trust Bowman. He has done nothing to help his cause since ALL MAJOR cup winning pieces were there. Have any of his guys panned out yet? Maybe Stalberg, maybe Leddy. However, hs mark on this team has led them in the wrong direction very quickly. Forget 2010-11, we all know that story. However, last year...not good.
It's just hard for me to sit here and say...well...If Kane regains his form from 2 years ago, or lives up to his god given talent. Or if Keith finds his Norris trophy winning form. Or if Crawford toughens up mentally and forgets last year...and if this prospect OR that fringe player take the next step....they'll be fine.
I just dont see it. I don't. I didn't see it last year, when that circus trip exposed them for being what they turned out to be...erractic, and soft.
Bowman keeps pointing to a core of players but guess what...only 4 have lived up to the hype since they won the cup...Toews, Sharp, Seabrook, Hossa. That's it. Hammer, Keith, Kane have regressed. Bolland can't stay healthy AND you still don't know what you have...

Trouble is that the trend of NHL ready signings since the Bowmans took over is more in the Zhamnov/Mironov/Karpovstev direction. They only seem to be able to attract players well past their prime, or those who do not fill the holes they have on the roster.
This team cannot contend for a Cup until they get muscle up front, a shooter on the power play, and can clear the crease in the D zone. As currently composed they are way too soft - especially for playoff hockey.

Makarov was comparably a couple years older. Teravainen is young. Kid is a find. Hawks were very lucky to get him where they did. - John Jaeckel
JJ,
I'm sure he's going to be fine. One period of a prospect game doesn't make a career. |
