Like who? There's Selanne, but he's going to Anaheim or he'll sit. There's Semin. He's got talent, but no drive.

Who else is left that is in the same talent bracket as Doan on the free agent market?

I meant the trade market as well as the free agent market. Nash, Ryan, etc. all cannot find a landing spot until Doan does; that was the logic anyway (or my intent).

I could live with a Semin signing, but he would really need either to play defense better or be paired with Toews and Hossa rather than Toews and Kane. I am still hopeful that Kane will return to RW where he belongs.

Because there would be no salary returned in those deals? Luongo is only getting traded with significant salary coming back

I would only sign Semin for a one year deal and make him prove himself. But why would he do that?

It might be the only thing he can do to stay in the NHL. I can't see a team giving him a multi-year deal.

He'll get paid, but he won't get more than a one year deal. He also won't get it from the Hawks.

Play defense better? He is one of the most under appreciated defensive players in the league. Equal to or better than Toews by some metrics.

Maybe he's still under contract to the Habs doing scouting. Maybe evaluating a possible prospect or two in a potential deal.
