I still stand by my original offer
Stastny/Kobasew for Stafford/Adam - DDM-Coga
signed, sealed, delivered
although the news article on adams makes it seem like hes going to be playing like his hair is on fire....seems like hes pissed that he made the squad last year then got the boot |

We'd have to give more than duchene for Ryan and obviously I'm biased toward duchene since he's my favorite player somi don't even wanna trade him, I feel he has so much potential it's insane, I watch him play every game and it feels like he creates a scoring chance every time he touches the puck so he's just exciting to watch, you'll see when they play buffalo - MattDuchene9
So how does Ryan command that much more of a trade value than Vanek, when comparitively Vanek at Ryans age put up better stats? Not to mention Ryan played with linemates that dont even come close in comparison to anyone that Vanek has played with (Ryans have been much much better).
Duchene put up 67 points as a 19 year old. He was 2-3 years ahead of Vanek and Ryan. Its no surprise that his production dropped due to injury last year. That hurts his value a little bit. But I think Duchene for Ryan is a fair deal for what the Avs want (that bona fide center).

Agreed, we are on the same page with everything! If he is moved for something we have a glaring need for then pull the trigger...obviously it's a first line center. - shanekern03
let's see if we are actually on the same page with everything.
i believe we do not need to make another big move. that we are fine with the centers are have plus grigs.
no need to trade ennis/vanek/myers/staff/miller for ryan or nash. not worth it. |

McNabb is the one who put Joey Hishon on the shelf for the past year. No dice.
To Buffalo: Duchene, Elliott
To Colorado: Vanek, Sekera, 2nd - 50NIX
deal !!!!!! |

Well, I mean, please read that evaluation I just posted. It lists his quality of competition, quality of teammates, corsi ratings both on and off the ice and also PP and PK advanced statistics. Sekera really was our best defenseman last year and its not even an argument.
I think you have such a lower expectation from Sekera (say compared to Myers or Ehrhoff) that the times he does shoot wide or turn it over are completely magnified by you.
Sekera was 3rd in missed shots behind Ehrhoff and Myers. Ranked 5th in giveaways behind Ehrhoff, Myers, Leopold, Weber.
He gets such a bad rap on here that its completely mind boggling. Sekera has a ton of value, and other NHL GM's know this. - theblueandgold
*shrugs*
he's a puck-moving/minute-eating defenseman in the mold of alex zhitnik...that's what i see in him...
can he change a game by himself? nope, leo can't either...ehrhoff has a propensity to find an open area on the pp...
myers backs off the defense if he's not tripping over himself and his worst goal production was twice that of sekera's best...
both those are puck-movers and both have had much more offensive production than rej |

Are you High? - Sufa
Would you rather trade statsny? Duchene is good, but unproven in the realm of vanek. He can score mass amounts of goals with an average center.
Landeskog-Statsny-Vanek
Mcginn-Oreilly-Parenteau
Jones-Mitchell-Downie
Mcleod-Malone-Hejduk
Not a terrible lineup |

You cannot put vanek and Ryan in the same boat at all, i think everyone can agree on that and I love duchene but he's not as good as Ryan at least yet but Anaheim won't trade their star away and in return get a player who they hope will be great and I don't even wanna ease duchene no matter what happens s |

I would rather have Bobby Ryan, not a huge move but we are overloaded on D. I think McNabb is too good to be going back to the AHL. We need to see if we can move Pardy and possibly Weber. |

No way, we need to keep any and all centers. I was just saying because of your reference to Nash that I would rather have Ryan. |

I clearly dont know my team?
Bahahahah!
No see the problem here is you are way over valuing Stasnty and I know what value Vanek has to this team and organization while you don't. That's the problem.
Vanek is worth far more than Stastny.
Just that simple really.
I would never on my worst day give you Vanek for Stastny, never! - 67CougarsSugar
Look at Vince's comment above yours comparing stastny and vanek, almost identical, you have no proven centers so you clearly need stastny, I bet you've never even seen him play |

What I'm saying is that Sekera is almost the exact opposite of what he has been billed to us as -- the puck-moving offensive defenseman. Hes more of a two way defenseman that is actually pretty good at defense. The advanced stats from last season i posted prove that. Thats the new role he has taken on the team. They arent relying on him to score goals anymore. Thats what Myers and Ehrhoff are for, afterall they are the ones getting the minutes with the top lines.

Duchene is our best center? He was 3rd on the team in scoring last year at the center position. Sure he had injuries, blah blah blah he still underperformed. If he was playing at the level the Avalanche expected taking him 3rd overall he'd be making close to Tavares money. Not a prove yourself two year deal that will probably be less than oreilly signs for. |
