The problem is we have five 4-6 D-men and only three top 3 D-men. Those players aren't going to get you anything. Since Myers and Ehrhoff are probably "untouchables" in Darcy's mind that really leaves only Sekera who is worth anything.

Nice collection of questionable hits. I like him but he's a long suspension waiting to happen.

I am certainly not ready to call Leino a bust after one season, but when you look at the projected line-up, he does stick out like a sore thumb. Any chance we move that contract to a team that needs to get to the cap floor?

cool thing about the cap going up to $70m is that leino's contract has less of an impact...

the sabres have cap space and could create more cap-space if necessary...thing is, for one reason or another, there's no big name player out there destined for buffalo

Myers, Ehrhoff, and McNabb will be a very good trio of d-men for the next 8 years. If they add another UFA to that group than we would have a very solid top 4.

which might be a reason why a guy like Pardy could get called up instead of brennan because they don't want to risk losing Brennan but a guy like Pardy... they would be happy to not have to pay him.. but if he does come up he is still an experienced NHL d-man
