agreed... I think how much we would have to give up for an aging 1C who granted would be better than what we have.. but the amount of pieces we have to give up to acquire would offset the deal...

If we could get Stastny without giving up any major names.. I wouldn't mind it... it would be a 2 year stop gap until we know that Ennis/Hodge, Grigs, and Girgs were ready to go...

Stastny has better stats than Vanek does in his career... in the last 3 years of service Stasnty blew Roy out of the water... all of Roy's great stats were early on as a 2/3C..

Plus you have ot know that Stastny's defensive game and FO% is 10x better than Roy (not literally on the FO%)

But As far as I can tell, Axel is a flake and will not be the next Tim Horton, Regehr and Sultzer will not be in Kiss or in the Rock and Roll hall of fame but the did join Rob Zombie and want thier D pairing named Stone Sour?? Does that about sum it up????

Not saying I would want Marleau but he did score 30 last year. I'm not so sure how talented they were before Joe got there either

He's always said that because he got f"d over by one. Darcy would do one if Pegs told him to. Darcy has changed his tune under Pegs in regards to many things he has said previously under past ownership

I don't see any offer sheets in the future though

true in deed.. .75 compared to .81..

I think another piece of that to take into account is that Stastny has been on a team that has had 69 points or less twice in the last 4 years where has we have been 88+ each year..

I think stastny has not had Vanek/Pommer type players to work with either.

I am not saying I want Stastny.. but I think he does have a lot of positives he could add to this team if the asking price isn't too much..

Stastny also is very good in his own zone.. he might not lay the body.. but he has very good Giveaway/Takeaway percentages and is one of the best FO% guys in the league. IDK if these equal 2.6M more in cap hit.
