Ah, nice argument regarding Dion being a top pairing Dman. I guess Ovechkin's not a top line winger either.

Not for a second, Craig Conroy is the best center Iginla has ever known, and he has been a top scoring threat on a weak team for ever. To me it's the same as saying Sakic is overrated.

As for Dion, any leafs captain is going to be hyped up by the homers and constant media attention, while also under scrutiny from every other teams fans. everyone hates the leafs, and whats sad is the only other team's fans i can talk to without getting trolled on lately is the freakin habs! Dion talks bigger than he is and belongs on the list, but to say he isn't a gifted defenseman is bull$hi+. he plays big minutes hits hard and when his head is in the game he is top ten @ D. His problem is mostly he gets distracted, and makes stupid plays, and goes cold for extended stretches. But if he works them out his skills are top tier!

Yeah. I still can't believe Lupul and Gardiner is what we got for Beauch. I remember Leaf haters constantly mocking us in the threads, saying he could maybe fetch us a third rounder. A lot of "bad defenceman on a bad team" comments being made. He ended up getting us an All Star and one of the league's best rookies.

Wilson was awful with the tough slower guys, our offense first system made the faster guys look great, and the slower guys looked, well... slow! plus we don't have any super skilled guys that slow the game down like Savard or Sundin could do.

Yeah, I agree. I always got the impression he wasn't taking being in the NHL very seriously... kind of like he felt entitled. This can do nothing but help his chances. He either sticks this year or he's GONE.

I very much agree, i didn't like much out of the ufa crop and now we have cap room for the future, all our bad contracts are up in the next 2 years
