A bit off-topic but is there a NYC-Buffalo rivalry (both sports and non-sports), such as we find with Edmonton-Calgary, Pittsburg-Philly, and LA-SF?

Or are the 2 cities so different that they don't really compete with each other, except for the occasional NHL or NFL game?

because im a sabres fan and we have to overpay to get players to come to buffalo. imagine being a young hot shot athlete, would you choose to live in buffalo for 4 years or LA for 4 years making the same amount of money??

Whenever a "NON hockey town" wins a cup, it's good for the NHL. We might hate some teams who win it, but when they do, it makes the league more profitable.

Yup. Its tough losing zach and it definitely hurts any chance of us contending this year, but we have a great coach, what seems to be a strong locker room, and our offensive depth is still good. We're certainly not as good as last year, but we're not as (frank)ed as people think either, imo.

NY has always had Boston and Philly for rivalries, in addition to multiple teams in the area. Buffalo has never been hated.

Buffalo and toronto/ottawa seem to hate eachother more than buffalo and nyi/nyr in my opinion..
