probably, im gonna guess that it will be decided during training camp where if he is lighting it up he will play some reg season games, if not then its going to be another year of looking to the future for the isles

Here's a hunch. He signs with Phoenix in a day or two. Then we get the obligatory comment from the agent "Shane really likes it in Phoenix, and gave up a significant amount of money to stay here".

Translation - The offer isn't real, or is real and from a team with no chance to get him. "Rumor" leaked by agent so that Phoenix fans focus more on Doan giving up a fortune to stay there (meaning, he wants to be here) vs. keeping them hanging for the last 3 weeks (meaning, does he want to be here?).
