probably, im gonna guess that it will be decided during training camp where if he is lighting it up he will play some reg season games, if not then its going to be another year of looking to the future for the isles

I'd like to at least give him his 9 or so games, so long as he doesn't look like a pile of crap in camp. But he might benefit more from dominating the O than getting crap minutes with the Isles.

Too much money in a cap world, but worth it if you have space and a lot of young players to mentor. A team like Edmonton, Colorado, Florida etc. might throw him a huge contract to get him out of Phoenix.

its a slippery slope, you cant listen to the player because they will always say they are ready, and you cant just look at his potential and put him on the 2nd line and expect him to produce, but at the same time you want him to get used to the NHL game and see what he does

so i think it will be between the NHL and the isles AHL affiliate (bridgeport?)

I get the feeling it might be Buffalo. The team has $$ to spend, they just signed Girgsensons who will likely play in the AHL, but could be a 3rd line center this year, if needed. Also, if something happens to Doan where he is "injured" 1 or 2 years from now, he can go on LTIR a la Pronger and not affect the cap.

What's worse is Islanders use that idiots contract to get to the cap floor. Islander fans are praying for an amnesty clause for DP. Even though I have a feeling he is closer to retiring due to injury then ever being an all star again. He can't walk down the stairs without breaking something.
