The NHL voted to end the current CBA, rather than extend it until a new deal could be struck. There will likely be games lost. If they lose another season, I'm done with the NHL. - Jsaquella

Considering Hatcher still looks like he could be playing, I can understand why young, inexperienced defensemen might get happy feet during a drill. Wilcox sounds very intriguing. - Jsaquella
From the sounds of it they have some kids to work with & develop. |

As a newcomer looking at hockey prospects what's Manning's upside and baseline projection? |

I thought the shortened 95 season was great myself. 82 games is too much |

It sends an aggressive message. For all of Bettman's bluster about how strong the NHL is financially, plus the fact that the salary cap tied to hockey revenues has risen for six straight years, the NHL's proposal could be seen as a slap to the face of the NHLPA.
Larry Brooks reported that the NHL not only proposed an 11% decrease in the revenue split(which James Mirtle calculated would end up being a 19% reduction in salaries over the long haul), but that the NHL wanted to redefine "Hockey Revenue" to a far more narrow scope. - Jsaquella
The NHL sent out a perfect proposal for their side, and the NHLPA will send out a perfect proposal for their side at first. It's like Pawn Stars...both sides will eventually meet in the middle.
You can't take these first proposals at face value.

I keep hearing Cousins name starting to pop up more and more. What is he realistically projected to be at the NHL level? Any player comparisons? - hereticpride
Jake, Couts and Cuz for Carter Not bad, and i felt the flyers shound have gotten more, like D-man Maroth. Luckily Couts fell in our lap

Rangers won that year - Deasr1 Rags in 94. Flyers swept them in 95. Lost to the Devs on the Claude Lemiux goal. Devs won the cup
edit: First year I had my season tickets. 21ish home games for 300 bucks. Third level, first row center ice behind the benches. Section 50 is I recall |

I'll still watch it. Why would I take a work stoppage personally? How many people would honestly not watch hockey anymore because of a lockout? |

The Broons leading scorer last year, Jared Knight, and Dougie.
Not a bad haul for Kessel. |

Brad Marchand is the most common comparison -- super pest with skill -- good passer, nice scoring touch, skates well, versatile, good both ways, can be used in all situations.
Andrew Shaw is another fitting comparison -- the Flyers would be lucky to have Cousins jump in that soon and produce the way Shaw has for the 'Hawks. |

I just think another lockout sends the wrong message to the fans. I will probably watch here and there but not like I do now. |

With all this positive talk I don't want Cousins included in a Ryan deal. The when you see what the Flyers and Bruins got back for their big player I'd hate to part with the equivilent for Ryan. Stand Pat. |

I'd hope they don't make any major moves, it seems they actually have some kids to work with, develop, and use for this franchise to go along with this years draft selections.

If a work stopage will end your fandom maybe you should'nt be a fan at all. How many times do other unions go on strike or lockout without us knowing? Just because its pro sports we its high profile and people think it doesn't happen in other business. Verizon had a strike a few years ago, do people not use their service anymore? |
