Just about to enjoy Roger Waters here at Citizens Bank.
So (frank)in pumped right now!!! |

I'd keep Pence. He's a good #5 hitter behind Ryan who needs a good bat behind him. Pence just isn't a #4 hitter and shouldn't have been expected to carry the team. - 77rams
He's a nice player, but by no means would I be saying "gotta keep him" if I were Amaro
If someone lays down a nice offer, I'd be more than willing to give up Pence |

As an aside, for some reason when I view this site on my phone, MJL has Bill Meltzer's avatar - and so does Bill. Very confusing. |

Still better vision than 95% of NHL referees from the last 20 years. Lone exception? Paul Stewart.

I don't see how Papelbon is a bad signing. True it's a lot of money, but he is worth it. Now Cliff Lee on the other hand, isn't worth it. He comes up small in big games. And a true ace, and 24M dollar a year player, is supposed to stop the bleeding. And carry the team. He has failed to raise his game when they needed him the most. He is the first player I'd be looking to trade. - MJL
im not the biggest Lee fan by any means, but to say he comes up small in big games indicates to me that you have a pretty short memory.
his playoff run in 09 was one of the most dominant performances ive seen in baseball in my lifetime. had a down game in Game 5 against the yanks but the team still won.
7-3 lifetime in the post season, averaging 9.8 SO per 9.
maybe not amazing, but i just wouldnt be so quick to label him a choker. |

Your right, I do have a short memory. Last year against the Cards when he was spotted a 5 run lead. And this year when they needed him the most, to step up and help carry the team with the injuries. He isn't getting it done. And in my opinion he is overrated. And I would deal him before losing Hamels.

nah.. while i value hamels more, i dont consider Lee a choker.
he's pitched well in too many big games for me to say that as of now.
edit: btw it was a 4 run lead he gave up last year not 5.. but it doesnt matter, as i know you arent one to split hairs

Well I admit that my feelings toward Lee are biased at this point. His performance in that game against the Cards, and his play this year have me soured on him. And Lee has come up small in more then just that game last year. As a so called "ace" and a 24M a year player, he has not done the job. When the team needed him the most. 4 run or 5 run, really doesn't matter. In my opinion he's overrated. I'd deal him, and give Hamels whatever it takes to keep him.
