Both are in the final year of their contracts.....and Cullen would fill in a huge hole at 3rd line center and relive some of the logjam that D we have.
He would also be a good "fill in" until Grigs and Girgs are ready
just my opinion though - rustbelt82
there are better options than cullen out there but you can't just go out and get any player in the league.. you have to be able to fill a need for the other team with the trade offer.

Half our team are third liners. How is there a gap there?

Hodgson and Ennis at the moment are not 3rd liners.....they are 1st and 2nd liners. Grigs and Girgs may not be ready next year, and do you want Porter or Leino playing 3rd line center? I don't.....Cullen would be a good fit.

lets not get too far ahead of ourselves.. the only 1st line we really have is vanek.. pommer is a very very good 2nd liner but i wouldn't call him a 1st line since he is not a sniper type.. Porter should be our center on the PB line not the 3rd line. Leino is not a center.
i am not sure where i am going with this but its all in there somewhere

IMO Pommers is more of a 1st liner than Vanek is..

Homer said yesterday that the Sabres are looking to put Leino at 3C so...
Well, apparently Leino said he'd like to play with Gerbe and Kaleta in his end of the year interview. I'm guessing he'll like Ott just as much. Maybe playing with those type of guys will make him play harder.
