Then I wouldn't do it. I'm not sending a player I really like to Philly. It would make me want to punch a baby or something. I hate them that much. - HonkFortheGoose

so did briere and leino..
it would probably take McNabb ++ to start to conversation on our end.. - SabresFaninIndiana
Briere leaving was a disaster
He's not coming back though
And with the center depth we have coming, there's no way I'd trade McNabb
I want him in our top4 for the next decade or so
I think he'll end up being better than Myers
And I think Myers will be pretty good too
I'm also not trading Pysyk |

I said this before the end of the regular season.
I say leave McNabb in Rochester this year. Pair him with Pysyk. Then you have a pairing that could be together for a decade. |

Leino and a 2nd for Briere. - dadeadhead
I would do that in a heartbeat.......
Though I think the point of the trade for Briere in the first place was to play with Pommer and Leino. |

Briere would be all nice and dandy.....
But we will have to get to playoffs first before his presence is actually seen on the ice and on the stat sheet. |

I disagree. He's a good performer in the regular season as well. This year wasn't his best, but I'd be willing to risk it anyway. |

Can we recap McNabb for a second.
- Played 25 NHL games
- Looked average in rookie camp
- Everyone seems to think he is the next coming of Scott Stevens
Am I missing something? |

Frees up 2mil in cap space for them.
Its also less money per season as 10mil of leinos deal has already been paid and is owed 17mil over 5yrs compared to Brieres 12mil over 3. |

He's got the tools. He uses them very well. Management is also high on him. They want him in the top 6, but currently, there is no room. He's big, he plays with an edge, he can run the PP. He had 8 pts in 25 games and was playing a very vanilla game while he was here. Just imagine how much more he can do when he really gets comfortable.
He had 30 points in 45 games in Rochester. He's a game changer. |

I had to explain why I didn't want Marleau here about 5 times already. Then I get told I don't know what a good player is.
I'm not sure how many times I have to say, I like him as a player, but that I don't think he's the RIGHT player that we need right now. For some reason, it's a difficult concept. - HonkFortheGoose
No problem there Goose.

Last 3 regular seasons:
Briere has 170 points in 222 games
Roy has 148 points 195 games
Briere has a .77 ppg in 222 games
Roy has a .76 ppg in 195 games
I don't see the worth on his 6.5M contract

Does a so-called "average" rookie camp mean he will not be good?
What about that kid who had a hat trick in the scrimmage?
Does that mean he's the next Crosby?
McNabb dominated in juniors and in 2/3 of an AHL season
Plus a pretty strong performance up here for us
I like what I've seen from him
I could be wrong of course,
But I think he has a very bright future
I think he'll be very "pronger-like" |

Sometimes it's about intangibles as well. Briere makes the players around him better. Roy never did that. |

it could also be taht we have such high regards for him that we over analyze everything he does and if he doesn't just knock our socks off we call him average..
where as players like Pysyk, Leduc, and McCabe got very high regards from people because we don't have to see a "knock your socks off" kind of moment every shift or two.
just my 2 cents. |

I can run the streets and be up for 30 hours straight still, but damn it takes forever to get right after doing it nowadays - homiedclown
Bang on again.
I play on 4 different sports teams during the summer and run on every non game day from April through November.
I need more service then a 30 year old car during the winter months after that. |
