Darcy has NEVER traded any of our young talent for a proven NHLer (other than Kassian for Hodgson, but Hodgson is not close to being a proven NHL talent). Now is the time to pull the trigger on a deal like this....how much longer will we have Miller, Vanek, Pominville??? Darcy should be in win now mode. What makes you think Cullen who is 36.. makes 3.5M. and who has not topped 50 pts in his entire career is more valuable than our top minute eating defender??
Ryan is a 30/30 player with Getzlaf and Perry... that is his ceiling... That is the best he will be... he will not play on a better line in Buffalo.

He has already added almost 50 lbs!!
He has said each year since his ROY year that it takes atleast 30 games to retool his in game conditioning wiht the added weight. - JVince11
I agree that he'll always be a better skater than Chara, but if he's already added that much weight, then his skating is about to reach it's ceiling, if it hasn't already. (I think it's still a couple years away) Then it's just onto the decline. Either way, Chara is a great d-man because he is positionally sound in complement to his size, and that's where Myers really needs to step it up this year, now that he's making the big bucks.

yes he has. remember chris gratton lol. but in all seriousness i think we traded keith ballard in a package to get drury and at that time keith ballard was just a prospect.

Myers is 22 years old.
He does need to step it up.. but he is 22 and has not played in the same body weight any year in the NHL. He has not had the same d pairing any year as well.
