In all honesty.. You guys have such a great crop of young players coming in the next one or two years. I would just go with what ya got and get one more good draft pick, then in the 2013-14 season they will all be hitting the scene and they will need to award more than one Calder trophy to the same team in the same year.
Just be patient lol - Steve-B
What's with the laugh at the end, this guy is up to something sinister Sabres fans watch out!
Not sure if i asked yo this or not, but whats going on up in Toronto? Any rumors?

Literally nothing. I can't remember the last time the off season in Toronto has been this quiet. I work in the Sportsnet building and no one is really even talking about the Leafs that much, it's all about the Blue Jays right now. I'm chalking it up to the CBA situation and insane asking prices for the only available players who are even remotely interesting.
With the exception of the Roy trade Buffalo seems pretty quiet too, especially compared to last summer.
as an outside viewer (non trade discussion participant), the majority of the trade ideas go exactly like that. i have no reason for bias because i don't think about trades, spew them out en masse on here and need to save face.

You realize Hishon has been battling post-concussion symptoms since the playoffs with the Otters 2 season ago. We don't even know if he can ever play up to his potential, or even play for the matter. Not a chance he will be counted on to step into a role, he's got some work to do.
On top of that, Hishon is a good friend of O'Reilly, I think the Avs drafted him looking to the future with both guys playing with each other. Not trade one as soon as the other might be ready.

Welcome to Garth's blogs. Something that you should know is that Garth has no inside information, and has no idea what he is ever talking about. Don't take anything he says seriously!

Yeah as it stands right now there is a LW spot open either on O'Reilly's line if Landeskog moves up with Duchene & PAP or on Duchene's line.
O'Reilly is the type of center you want your rookies playing with that is for sure. It could be anyone of Hishon, Heard, or Sgarbossa that gets converted to a LW because they are all left handed guys. Hishon's question mark is how long it will take him to find his timing and get back into the groove but with his friendship with O'Reilly. I would expect that Hishon might have the best chance at instant chemistry with him which could very propel Hishon into being on the roster opening night.
You never know.. (Hishon has been fine and able to train for something like two months now, so he has had a full off-season to get into game shape unlike Mueller did, and his lingering symptoms were mostly a neck injury not a concussion.
Regardless, teams don't move centers until another one comes in and knocks them off. If anything a smart player like Hishon should have no problem converting to LW.
