in florida the lottery was suppose to add money to the schools, that was why they voted for it
instead all it does is take the place of what the state and tax dollars were collected to do
it's all a scam and down here the teachers and kids suffer
my wife makes 40K and has been teaching in an A school for over `7 years
to make matters worse, no she teaches so the kids pass the test instead of teaching in a creative manor, due to state imposed tests that determines if the kid passes or gets held back
it's a cluster(frank) on many levels - homiedclown
I totally agree. I think the whole system needs a rehaul, but like I said things don't get better by abandoning them.
The public school system is just outdated at this point and needs to be reinvented for the 21st century.

Her silver spoon is so evident it mind as well be a tattoo.

There is a restaurant here called The Latin King... I told her I will not go and give a gang money as a joke.. she looked at me like i was a lost turtle from the sea.... - JVince117

here is the Parise and Suter thing ..
*Sounds like the bidding on Parise was instantly insane, with multiple immediate $100 million US bids. (Suter was slightly less crazy, lots of suitors but fewer nine-figure ones.) In horse racing, those that jump out to a quick pace are called "rabbits," and there were multiple hares here. Philadelphia's interest has been heavily reported, and at the end of the day, was the probably the highest bidder. But it's believed Buffalo also let both players know they would get $100 million apiece to dress for the Sabres. (Darcy Regier politely declined to comment.) There may have been others.

The problem with the school tax isn't so much the concept of paying for an educated society, but the ambiguity of what you are actually paying for. In theory, yes, you pay for the education of you city, town, neighborhood, or what have you, but when School Districts like Buffalo make national, sometimes international news, about teachers getting facials and other unnecessary forms of plastic surgery as part of their benefits package, it does cast some doubt as to whether the system actually works the way we're led to believe it does.

I don't think you should punish everyone cause a few abuse the system. That happens everywhere in every type of "system".
Regardless, that doesnt mean you should throw away the public school system, just means it needs some reform.
