Public Education: Problem is motivation. Millions of kids aren't motivated to learn. Weather thier parents do properly movtivate them, Parents dont know what properly motivating is, or the kids just dont give a poop.
See, a lot of kids have an xbox and thier own computer and a tv in thier room regardless of thier grades, OR regardless of thier parents income levels. So they never see the correlation between hard work, knowledge and happiness. Also the parents think they are doing thier kids favors and "loving" them by letting them be lazy and unmotivated.
I went to a public school where some kids went on to do great things, some kids were middle of the road and some were absolute failures. - Buffalo--Sabres
Well said and I agree...unfortunately many do not see getting a quality education as motivation and motivating oneself to be educated. |

Homer- with the signing of Grigs does that mean ennis could become trade bait?? (finding a 3rd line center isnt as hard as finding a top 2 center)
because my thinking is: You dont put Grigs on the 3rd line duties. (Grigs with Ott / Gerbe would make no sense to me) Hes a 6'3 playmaking center. So he should play with skilled players like Leino / Poms. Basically fill Grigs in for Roy.
(Im new here ..... But i read the Sabres blogs and what everyyone says all the time. Homer / Rico main sabres insite and Textsources was a fan favorite with everyone) |

Im sorry, I was talking about what was being reported about Grigorenko's contract.
That report stated maximum ELC salary with signing bonus (925,000 includes the 92,500 max SB) and maximum schedule A (850,000)
Im assuming his cap hit will be 1,775,000.
Girgensons signed maximum salary and SB, and then 700,000 in schedule A. His cap hit will be 1,625,000 - theblueandgold
Oh ok. I can't believe the amount of bonuses these guys can get. It would make sense if it didn't affect the cap, but since it does it just seems crazy. |

I don't think Grigs will go back to the Q now.. a maximum contract like that..
I would start penciling him in on alllll of our line ups that we write every single day on here. - JVince117
It'll be interesting to see how they handle Grigorenko
They don't have to give him the 9game tryout right away...
They could send him to juniors to start & then call him up say 30games in and see how he looks
Or they could give him a few games, send him down, bring him up for a few more...
It doesn't have to be 9 games in a row
They could also wait till his junior season is over & bring him up
Lots of options there |

The city of Buffalo has been in need of fixing as a whole for quite some time. - hubie
Do you know exactally how broken the city of Buffalo is? I'm not talking about places off of Delaware and Elmwood, or near the central warf. I'm talking the 78% bulk of the city. The conditions people live in, the way people choose to live, the several generations deep of living in a pathological ghetto mentality just cant be undone by a 3rd grade teacher, or the Mayor.
The Ghetto mentality has gotten so bad and no one wants to talk about or deal with it.
-Flat screens tv's with cockroaches crawling on them and bacon grease splattered everywhere.
Getting evicted for the 2nd time this year while your whole family is standing around in air Jordans, including Air Jordan flip flops.
-Dropping your 1st grader off to school wreaking like marijuana smoke because you and your boyfriend just finished off a blunt on they drive there.
Broken.
Anyhow nice to see the grigs thing is worked out. |

i agree and disagree about the going to college part. easier to skip "climbing up the ranks" with a degree than if you went straight to the job to be trained by them. You'd be stuck behind for years, longer than the time it takes to go to college than if you got a degree.

if your not going into one of those fields I mentioned, better off starting your own business and working for yourself
I make so much more money doing that and most companies will make you a budget cut as you get closer to pension and replace you with a temp
sad state of our country now a days
in the 50's ward cleaver could work an average job and support his family
then mrs cleaver enters the work force
then the job gets devalued
now it's shifting where the company cares more about the bottom line then the families of the workers |

You are right. NYS feels that everyone should have a regents degree and I find that total unessary. There are plenty of people who can't or don't want to go to college but we have forced the issue down their throat. You can be successful without a college degree and in many cases it's the books and tests that get in the way bc someone said some where that X number was the gold standard and if u don't meet X u fail |

problem with welfare, they have it so good there is no reason to get off of it
give them the birth control shot
make them work 20 hours a week, picking up trash or something
make them get a skill or trait in vocational school the other 20 hours a week
put the bastards in day care while this is going on
if they refuse to do it, take them off welfare |
